lol.

If you buy something older/classic instead of new, you will probably at least maintain most of the investment. With a newer car you will only lose money.

the downside being if you get in an accident you die.

which never happens in texas, the land of drive through alcoholic drink stores

this might help decide:

:picard:

Get a big old gas guzzling convertible boat and retro it with a nice modern a/c system.

You think that Lincoln is as safe as Joe’s last car, an AMG Mercedes?

No crumple zones. Just a big heavy car that transfers impact forces right to the driver.
No collapsing steering column.
No padded dash.
No high strength steel side impact protection.
No seat belt pretensioners.
No neck protecting head rests.
No airbags (front, side… nada).
I don’t even think it has shoulder belts.

Just off the top of my head. I’m sure there are more. Plus accident avoidance stuff like ABS, T/C, Stability Control, real handling etc.

I agree, LOVE my BMW! Would be a great choice used for 35k

But if you are going impractical American, how about a 6-4 Impala drop top with 16 switches ala Dr. Dre. You can take turns on 3 while drunk driving :lolham:

not the sexiest thing on 4 wheels, but they can be had with a V8 5sp auto (no manual option). pretty cheap, decent on gas. get one of theses and spend the other 20K and the strip club.

lol is that even a serious post?

2006 XLR-V?
Residuals have tanked on them (almost a $100k sticker). But if you want a drop top, auto and a bunch of power they can be had for about $40k.
Pick it up from a Caddy dealer and have them certify it and get a 6/100k bumper to bumper.
Not really my cup of tea, but an option to consider

The XLR-V can accelerate to 60 mph in 4.6 seconds according to Car and Driver’s tests. The magazine also timed it at 11.3 seconds to 100 mph and recorded a 13.0 second quarter mile at 110 mph.
