Another what car should I buy thread.

Having a good month, things are finally starting to settle down, and I think its finally getting to be about time to pull the trigger on a new car… I want something that is

  • enjoyable to drive
  • Reliable (warranty is a huge plus for me)
  • Newish, I dont want anything older than 05 (unless you can justify it)
  • I drive 70+ miles a day right now, and its not going to get too much shorter, (its all stop and go too) 10mpg city cars are out.
  • I live in florida now, so RWD is also a plus
  • Comforts like nav, heated/ac seats, dynamic cruise/distronic/ etc etc. (I like the little bells and whistles)
  • Price range 20-40k, id rather not spend 40k on a car right now, but that would be the max for right now
  • 6 Spd is a plus too.

Im sure i’ll think of more so leave these open for ideas.

I really am all over the board on this Ideally Id pick up a 335i/m3 and call it a day, c6 corvette, is350, sl 500, etc etc

GO GO GO…

Civic

Wait for the new 2011 Buick GS, that thing looks hawt

After renting the vette… I probably would not buy one.

What about an Evora? LOL.

C6. Gas mileage is surprisingly good with the 6-speed.
CTS-V if you want something a little more “classy.”

c6 would be very affordable… you can pick up one without nav for 25k now, and throw in a better aftermarket system…

newman, what was so bad about it?

I dont really chauffer clients around, but I do work with a guy who is almost 70, so a lotus is out. not to mention, too flashy for showing up at 80 year old war vets houses.

Do you give old people sponge baths or something?

+1 more for C6 Vette convertible.

If i bought a vette it wouldnt be a vert… i’ll leave that for my father, its his cup of tea…

This is what i want ideally

EDIT. old people dont sponge bath me.

Idk, your dad’s vette was pretty fun to drive, how bout an older Porsche 911?

I can’t help but have such a hardon for G35C’s.

^ i thought about getting a porsche… but nothing is going to be new enough in the price range i want to spend, and still have warranty… (with a porsche that would be a necessity)

EDIT: fry, i agree, i used to want one so badly, i drove one, it didnt excite me, more than that though, i see them EVERYWHERE here… same with 350z’s.

What about a Boxter S? Get the fun factor of a convertible and baller factor of a Porsche

The C6 felt like I was driving a really fast cobalt.

But I like my fast cars to be harsh and angry.

I doubt I’d ever buy a C6 unless it was a zo6

Yeah, you’d have to supercharge it. :tspry:

^the z06’s are really coming down in price too… i guess i could save a bit longer until i can get EXACTLY what i want…

But as we all know… set a budget at 20k… and 25k cars look that much better… set it at 30 and you want a 40k car…

chris, i dislike boxsters… soo much.

I’m guessing in order to like the Z06 i’d also probably need to put it on a really hard suspention and put a really loud exhaust on it. Get an 07 STi limited. that’s be sweet.

I should add a bullet… I want to keep this stock as possible… its my DD, it must be reliable… Eventually i will buy another toy… that s1000rr looks more appetizing by the day, not to mention, i could really use a boat

you already have something fun to drive why not rock something comfortable? My sis just picked up one of these. I’m not a truck guy by any means but I have to say it’s freeking sweet.
