yet another what should i buy thread...

ive got a few serious people interested in the a4 so i need to start to decipher what to purchase as a new daily driver.

some key points are going to be…

  1. RWD
  2. budget of 15k(ish)
  3. RWD
  4. manual transmission
  5. RWD
  6. not a v8 (aka i would like somewhat decent fuel economy)
  7. not more than 10 years old
  8. RWD
  9. heated seats would be nice but not a deal breaker
  10. RWD

i was leaning towards either an e46 m3 or e90 330i

thoughts?
suggestions?

C5 vette.
GTO.
CTS…(V)

When did I fall in love with gm…wtf.

save yourself 10k and go with the e36 vert. also, you wont need heated seats in SD

M3.

C5 Vette 6spd 350hp, removable top, heads up display, decent ride quality, and 30+ mpg highway, and much cheaper to maintain than the ///M power!

15k vette is going to have alot of miles on it and be very very close to 10 years old.

e90 or m3… or Vette.

If you’re going to be in Cali, why not get a vert?

e46 m3

cali?= z3,z4?

It’s funny because there plenty of rwd V8s that get better mileage than an e46 M3. I love M3’s and would totally rock one, but not for the gas mileage. Actually, I would bet a vette usually gets better mileage than a 4 cyl STi. Ultradriver could still get 25mpg highway when he was at 450whp, and got like 19/28 with it when it was closer to stock and he wasn’t totally raping it.

I’m not saying you should be buying a vette by any means. Just don’t buy an e46 M for the siq mpg.

More like a $10k vette. A C5 with 70k miles could easily be had for $15k, and who cares if its a 97 or 04, they are the same. I guess if 70k miles is a lot of miles to you then you are right.

see criteria number 6 sir

Andrew you have already voiced this option to me many many times and yet i still have zero interest in obtaining such a vehicle

i guess cause i just dont really care for convertibles. i was pondering an s2000 but was planning on getting a hardtop for the thing if i got one lol.

i completely understand the argument here and trust me the m3 is by no means fuel efficient but ive lusted for one for quite a long time and now i have the chance to scoop one for a daily…

also i need something that will be somewhat decent in the snow since ill be here for at least the next 6 months and i dont think a c5 vette is one of the better choices for me.
plus my mom just picked up an 01 c5 vette this summer and while i have fun taking it out and doing heaters i guarantee would not enjoy driving such a vehicle on a daily basis.

S2k with hard top

Since you already have the Porsche, my vote is an E90. Probably can’t beat the features in that price range and you’ll have a sexy DD that’s still practical when you need it.

possible a hyundai genesis coupe? http://www.cars.com/go/search/detail.jsp?tracktype=usedcc&csDlId=&csDgId=&listingId=75403057&listingRecNum=4&criteria=sf1Dir%3DDESC%26mkId%3D20064%26stkTyp%3DU%26mdId%3D30263%26rd%3D75%26crSrtFlds%3DstkTypId-feedSegId-mkId-mdId%26zc%3D14534%26rn%3D0%26PMmt%3D1-1-0%26stkTypId%3D28881%26sf2Dir%3DASC%26sf1Nm%3Dprice%26sf2Nm%3Dmiles%26isDealerGrouping%3Dfalse%26rpp%3D50%26feedSegId%3D28705&aff=national

Toyota Camry

X…

m3, s2000, or rx8.

thats what i was leaning towards.
i also just found an e46 zhp 330i w/75k miles for $10k i dont think the dealer knows what it is…

i appreciate the suggestion but for some reason i just cant get into japanese built vehicles for the most part. the interiors just feel uninviting and cheap.
oh and LOL at “VERY QUICK”

Genesis is actually Korean, but either way the interior of the coupes is actually pretty nice

STFU

XwX…

just to be clear i want the vehicle i purchase to be reliable so that being said i will never own any vehicle that starts with the letters RX-

Make sure you get a fancy new v-neck to go with an E46 purchase.

I do like the ZHP a bit but would prob pony up for the E90 style.
