So...Its finaly going to happen.... *pic*

hoTtness…

I know the S is loud…thats 1 of the reasons i like it…if money permits this year, I will be putting all forged internals for strength, if not, then next year…stock 99 engine only has 40k on it…
This winter, aside from the S/C install with anderson power pipe… The heads are coming off for new gaskets and arp studs…then they are going out for port/polish and valve job…when they get back, im putting some comp blower cams in…intake will most likely be the new typhoon since its out already, and will also get port matched to the heads…but rumor has it by february trick flow is supposed to have one out, so i may just hold off for that one…it seems better…also installing headers…we already have stuff done like upper plenum, 75mm TB, exhaust, gears etc. then it goes on the dyno for tuning…oh yeah, upgrading the clutch too since ours is toast…

this is the basic plan for right now, but im sure things will change…we have ideas of what exact combo we wanna run, but still doing some research…again…mostly if money permits…which i have already started a budget for, so there should be no issues (i hope)

should make a fun little car for the wife.

Neat deal man.

Mines a stock 99 gt motor with a bullitt intake and the v1. We put a real super conservative tune and the lowest boost available and it make 333 at the wheels in a 4r70w/IRS car. Its pretty fun.

Make sure you have a good tune, 90mm maf (OEM), 42# injectors, upgraded fuel pump, and don’t get greedy with the boost or you will break the stock bottom end…

Real fly

yeah, we are keeping it at a conservative 8-9 lbs of boost…unless of course i get the chance this year to do all the internals…in which case it will be bumped to about 15 lbs or so…should be plenty.

also, lightning 90mm MAF, 42# injectors and 255 lph pump are all on my list.
It will mostly likely end up at Kennedy’s for the dyno tune…They did some incredible things to my buddys a-trimmed fox body…436hp to the wheels to be exact.

justin…how do you like that intake? i was thinking about the bullitt but its kind of pricey for the intake and everything needed for the swap…Id be real interested in checking out your setup…real interested in hearing just how loud it is…

I really wouldn’t let kennedy’s touch it. No offense to anybody on the forums who likes them or whatever. I’m really about having a safe tune all the way through the power band, instead of a huge peak horsepower number.

I’d get with the guys at modulardepot.com. Get them to send you a safe tune though the mail, then drive the car to ohio and get it dynotuned. Worth the money, these guys know their shit. One of the founders of SCT dynotuned my car.

Right now, i’m putting it away for storage. I had a trans oil flow problem, possibly a clogged inline filter, and it cooked my new race spec 4r70w. Its very painful to even talk about. I’ll get it going again soon.

I haven’t driven the car with the plastic intake on it, so i can’t comment as to before and after on the bullitt intake. It doesn’t make much more power than the plastic intake with stock NA applications, but when you get into a blower or a built NA motor, it really pays off.

Furthermore, I’ve got a guy who does excellent work on CNC machining the heads.

If you have the bucks to get that done, deffinitely do it with the bottom end.

His ported NPI heads will outflow ported PI heads.

The OEM PI cams make excellent blower cams, no need for aftermarket unless you want a lumpy idle and have alot of money to pay for them.

I think building an aluminum explorer shortblock would be badass, and 100 pounds lighter in the nose.

 Justin knows his shit with the 281’s

well, i have blower cams in my budget…and im a fan of the lumpy idle… as well as porting of the heads…Thanks for the offer on a guy who does it, but i have someone already in line waiting for them…he does amazing work.

thanks for the info on the tuner…definately something to consider…i have a good amount of time yet to make that decision…I appreciate the advice!! its always welcome.

baller.

This boost thing is a horrible idea. please save yourself the time and agrivation and mail that to my house…so i can boost my s2k

congrats- should be fun:tup:

 ahh…just saw a v1-s set up for an s2k go for like $800 on ebay…

FWIW CompOrnGT( Pumpkin part fo Evil Pumpkin Racing) has a forged bottom, stage 2 heads, blower cam and is running 10 lbs of boost with a SQ, tuned by Steeda CA and made 530 to the wheels. Modular Depot(ohio) ro Modular Powerhouse(Georgia) are th eway to go, althogh Steeda CA(Toronto) is pretty good too.
