Key word Jetta. When people want a cheap sporty VW they don’t look for a Jetta, they look for a Golf(New Beetle if you’re of the feminine persuasion). That’s the difference.
True, but they had their own vision. They did a ton of things differently. They were pioneers. Then they just became another badge like the rest of GM.
You’re an idiot they sell 3x as many jettas as the do golfs/gtis here in the states and plenty of them are gli’s
The Taurus was the number one selling car for how many years? How many they sell is how relevant to its resale value?
(you can look at that 2 different ways, here’s your slab of meat, fight over it)
:hang:
I was just correcting you on your dumb comment about when people buy sporty vw’s they don’t buy jettas which isn’t true if you look at the numbers. You keep acting like the gti/golf has a higher resale than a comparative jetta but that isn’t true either they are pretty much the same, even with there being 3x as many jettas out there. America hates hatchbacks and loves 4 door sedans.
Lol I start a ton if shit on here on accident…lemme clarify…
I was simply saying that buying a 325i, a loaded jetta, a4, or other comparable car is more for your buck than buying a cobalt LS or Saturn ion for 8,000 new which it will lose value as JayS posted the same as a Jetta. I won’t get into reliabity because that’s a whiole different argument but I wouldn’t hesitate to buy another European car over an American car anyday.
When GM starts putting forth effort towards quality in their baseline vehicles then I’ll give them another look. Saturn just didn’t have it.
In my opinion
Everyone else has their take, I’m just simply stating mine knowing I could be wrong as well as right.
That’s a shame…only arm of GM I kind of appreciated…
see thats the sad thing, from their first model in 1990 till they ended the line in 2002, the S-series was reliable as hell. Look at how many old and crusty people still have their 93 four door garbage cans at Tops. A good S-series wont die no matter how much you try to kill it. Then GM decided to get creative with the Ion, L-series and suv’s and it all went down from there.
just my opinion.
The cobalt replacement, the cruze, looks nice.
Getting decent reviews, so I will have to take a look before I make my judgement.
THANK GOD!!! I was so sick of that dark guy with the green shirt ripping on Hyundai’s assurance stuff…
I wish Hyundai had the balls to make a commercial in retaliation to that
I haven’t had a chance to see the new model so I won’t make judgements, I don’t want to come off biased based on lack of information, I’ll look into it
40 MPG Highway, no hybrid just an efficient gas engine
Obviously this is not the base interior, but at least you get an idea about the layout:
The one they had at the Ren Cen had 18" wheels, huge brembos, aero kits, etc. Probably not a good representation of the base model.
But regardless, I think it is 5 steps up from the Cobalt.
Fuck and I love the wife’s Saturn Vue, West Herr Saturn has been amazing almost to the level of service when I had my BMW.
Wonder how well the other GM dealerships will be able to service her car.
And I love the new re-badged Vauxhall/Opal cars.
Did she have the Honda engine Vue or the new one?
2008 Vue bought when they first came out. Not sure what engine is in it. It is the V6 model engine.
I don’t understand how you can LOVE a saturn vue
it’s one of the MOST mediocre vehicles out there…just so bland overall. That doesn’t make it bad, but there are plenty of other cars that are just as mediocre.
I don’t understand how someone could love a Civic, to me they are an ugly cookie cutter car that I wouldn’t be caught dead owning.
(I have no idea if you own a Civic, I’m just using it as an example)
That is the new one. Which is heavier but fit and finish was improved.
The old one had the Honda V6 engine.
I agree for the most part
the civic feels MUCH better to drive than the vue though
