so clean …shitty man
Thanx guys…keep ‘em comin’!
It’s actually the dude in the Italia jersey standing by his car in the 1st pic, the other brown dude was a reg dude walkin’ the street.
I popped open the hood can see that the rad support was pushed back about 4 inches or so on the driver-side and the respective fender is shifted about an inch into the engine bay. Faaack.
A funny part of the story is the following convo:
Him) Hey buddy, would you want to settle this outside of insurance so my premiums don’t go up?
Me) I’m tellin’ you man, parts for this car ain’t cheap…seriously, this ain’t no corolla or civic.
Him) That’s fine that’s fine…so are you going to report it?
Me) Yeah, I’ll get the report, estimate, etc and let you know but I’m telling you, it’s going to cost a lot to get it back to how it was.
Him) Alright I’ll call you tomorrow
Next day he calls…
Him) So what are we going to do?
Me) I already reported it
Him) Okay, so we will do the same
Me) Sounds good, I suggest you do it soon
Him) Hmmm wait wait wait…I thought we decided that we’re going to do this outside of insurance…like you know, I fix my car, you fix yours, that’s it.
Me) BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH…oh, wait…you’re serious? Ummm no buddy. Go to a collision center asap
Him) Oh…okay then. Bye.
LOL
LOL i love those people and then for some reason they just seem to disapear for a while and you get fuked over…
hey dude, im not 100 percent on this, but im pretty sure… - no matter what the circumstances… i mean… if your car rear ends someone… you are to blame… if someone cuts you off… (in the insurance eyes, you were following to close) or (we not leaving enough space) …
if your doing 80 on a main road and someone pulls out into your lane from a gas station lets say… and you rear end him… its unfortunately your fault, i know this isnt that case with you, you are lucky you hit him in the side, but good luck dude, if you ever have to explain the story, do your best not to say you rear ended him because you had no time to brake… worst thing you could do… sorry to hear ! good luck!
As long as you have the information and reported it right a way with pictures taken you are way better. And as of the nice car let me know when you are paring it, LOL. By the way that corolla looks better maybe give me the other dudes phone number he might be parting it out too.
thats sad its a nice kouki im jelous .
that just puts a tear in my eyes… I fear something like this will happen to me, so I run a DD =)
HAHA not a civic I LOVE IT sorry to hear that bro:(
Thx…good lookin’ out. Yeah there was no ‘following’ in this situation at all. He came from the lane to my left to enter to the gas station on my right…so really, he can’t turn into a lane if it’s not clear to do so, plain and simple. Thank goodness for my witness. He was crossing the street and saw everything from 20 feet away, even took pics and flipped me his business card.
I found it odd that the police officer at the collision center wasn’t interested in the witness information, is that normal? Is the insurance company supposed to obtain that from me?
go ahead and provide that information anyways. the faster they receive all relevant information, the better. I hope you get enough $$ and more. An extra 1000 dollars a year should teach that moron to stop driving like that.
so no police on the scene?
he would have likely been charged “fail to yeild…” right of way, or improper lane change…
I had a similar accident with a crack dealer pulling through a parking lot to avoid a red light, making a wide turn into an outside lane, then stopping in front of me to let his customer out. I rear ended him, he was charged failure to yield right of way…
i havent read this all but if you didnt get the police there immediately you mis-managed this situation.
secondly, if you are going through insurance i can take care of you… full lifetime warranty on repairs anywhere in the continent (like if you move) and i can personally assist with the whole thing as well.
if you havent picked where you’re getting it fixed let me know. I have my own black Kouki in for work right now… you can line it up beside mine.
Ya good point how come you guys didn’t have a police officer on scene at least he would have got a ticket. Don’t you have to stay put if its $500 or more damage or maybe its a $1000. Either way the damage is more than that.
Thanks for the info. Sorry for not mentioning…we called the police. They asked if anyone needed an ambulance. I said no, but the damage is more than $1,500 (studied from the M1 test I wrote last year) so I’m calling for a cop.
They said to exchange info and be on with it because no cop will come. There was a station close by so I sent my cousin who was the passenger to call for a cop. They said they will send one right away. After 45mins of waiting, we gave up.
I should’ve demanded for a cop if I knew he would be able to issue a ticket and blame at the scene. Would definately relieve me of any uncertainties where they can somehow blame this partially on me. Hopefully my witness’ statement will suffice.
Also, what would happened if say one of the shop’s (recommended above) estimate a certain $ amount that is significantly higher than what the State Farm Adjuster estimates? Only a shop will recognize the time put into molding the lip, smoking headlights, shaving emblems, etc. The lip especially with it being discontinued would need to be cut off and remolded to a new OEM bumper.
No not anymore, as long as the two partys involved cars are not totally screwed you cant drive it they dont want to show up they just want you to drive to the nearest reporting center.
Something like this happened to me in Toronto 2 years ago, an older guy ran a red light and pulled infront of me and I ended up rearending slash t-boned him and called it in on the spot and they said as long as the 2 cars are mobile you have to drive them in and report it there. Stupid as shit I think as when you leave scene and they dont see it then what stops the old (“more responsible”) guy from lying through his teeth and fukin the young guy over but thats my 2 cents worth
you were saying that u car skidded. if u had abs and had it disconnected or whatever u should re connect or installe it before the insurance adjuster comes because they could dinay u coverage cause the car was comprimized.
Can you elaborate a lil plz? Re: ABS
Sorry, don’t fully understand…
if the repair value significantly more than the value of your car = write off.
they will give you say $4000 (wild guess , maybe lower) for your car and give you the option to buy back your car for a really low amount.
In the meantime i would start taking off all the mods … including the wheels etc and start putting on stock parts so as to avoid any problems when the adjuster looks at the car.
- Last thing you want is for them to deny your claim because your car has been modified without their knowledge.
^that would be the worst!
DO IT
