So yeah, I was driving on the left lane, north on the 404 near the Sheppard exit. Suddenly, some fucking idiot in an audi 2 cars ahead of me decides to STOP for no fucking reason! The car in front of me stopped on time, i managed to stop on time (with screeching tires and a rear end ready to fly out), but i stopped safely.
Then all of a sudden, WHAM! some asshole in a taxi cab was following too close and rear ended my poor baby
Well, the point of this is for you guys to estimate how bad this is, it’s not too serious but my right-rear quarterpanel is like folded :shock:

This same incident happened to me 6 months ago and it seperated my frame :x . Be happy the asshole driver didn’t smash into you at a higher speed. Don’t loose too much sleep man, looks like he just brushed you.
I’m seriously wondering WTF idiot drivers in Toronto are doing. They are becoming more and more unpredictable all the time. I noticing the growing amount of assholes that like to change lanes right into you without putting their signal on. Not to mention your right next to them :?
This is becoming a popular occurence when starting from a red light and it turns green. By god they need to get across 4 damn lanes to pickup their ugly husband/wife.
Oh the other great one is sitting in the damn blind spot, seems people think thats a sacred place or something. God don’t get me started.
If you plan on repainting the rear quarter of the car I could straighten out that rear quarter around the taillight in about 20 minutes with a hammer and dolly. I’ll do it for free (I’ll just take pics to continue adding to my portfolio here and consider that payment enough).
I’ll lay some plastic in the bumper too, that’s no biggy.
However, you wouldn’t want to do this unless you do in fact intend to repaint that quarter (blending) or the whole car… as the paint will crack further.
thats rough, but in an impact like that you can’t just look at the impact area, follow the panel and see how your passenger/hatch door align because body gaps never lie.
i talked with his boss, and seeing as it’s a taxi company and all, the guy said he could have his bodywork guy come in and fix it all up for me, free of charge.
does that sound fishy to you?
i don’t want to work with insurance companies, 'cause if mine gets notified, WHAM, i’m gonna get shafted in the ass. i’m 17 with only a G2. That doesn’t make me a bad driver, but my insurance company probably thinks so and will try to suck me dry, cash-wise.
Oh, and AnDrEw, i totally agree with you. You have no idea how many people have given me close calls, i swear some people need to be taken off the damn roads. Looks like you can’t avoid 'em all though

Ok, so the Taxi company doesn’t want YOU to go through ins. either, they will get screwed worse than you. Heres what you do:
Get a quote from a Nissan dealership
Bring the quote into the Taxi Co.
Tell the guy “You owe me this much or I am calling Ins.!”
I am pretty sure they will give in, go to the extent of writing down all of the info, and then call your ins. co. if you are on good terms with them, ask them what you should do. If they are a good company, they will give you an honest answer (don’t quote me on the honesty thing).
404+17(G2)+call to ins.=cancelled ins + possible license sups. (accident report usually taken by police, usually required for ins. claim)
yes taxi’s get screwed hard for ins. $6000+ a month isn’t unusual.
however I would get the quotes/damage inspection, and go to the taxi company and work some thing out. It wouldn’t be a bad idea (either) to discrectly record the conversation with the taxi co. owner (if you are party to a conversation you may record it and/or use it as evidence-civivl suit)
The damage isnt that bad but its gonna require quite a bit of work to get it all nice and straight again because of where its hit. There isnt enough room to comfortably get behind the dent with a hammer and dolly and especially because its hit on the corner, the dent is not going to just pop out. Also, look at the gap between the hatch and your quarter panel, the gap is bigger which means your quarter panel is shifted over to the side.
make sure you keep that in mind when you get it repair because if you just slap on a new light and hammer out the dent its still gonna be very obvious that it was hit there.
Anyways im not trying to scare you but just giving you my opinion.
I really dont know what all you guys are talking about. If it wasnt your fault then your insurance wont go up at all. Only if its your fault. You wont be hit for the claim, he will, and your insurance will stay the same.
I was in an accidnt and got hit with my g2 at probably 17 or 18 and my policy didnt change at all because i got hit. Now if you were the one that rear-ended him, then it would be a totally different story.
Do it the right way where your car will get the proper repairs it needs the way it should be repaired and go through insurance. You dont want some guy hackin at your car fixing it the easiest and cheapest way possible.
It’s called no fault insurance, your insurance company probably lets the first one go with no penalties, this is why it is so important to not make a claim (save the first one for the big one). Most companies have a 65% accident premium wheather it was your fault or not.
let the taxi company fix it,a n have them fix some other things for the trouble and saving them from going through insurnace too. For example if you want to shave your hatch and have that painted for free now would be a good time
after they finish and its not perfect cuss and make them fix it again. Taxis are always ripping people off anyways
