i always make sure to say upstate ny. I wish nyc would be broken off to its own state .
I get pissed when I say I’m from upstate and someone from Buffalo says “Albany isn’t upstate buffalo is really upstate” I wanna slap them with a map for not understanding that west is different from north. However it seems if you live in the city anything north of westchester county is upstate. And if you live in Plattsburgh or other points north glens falls/saratoga seems to be the gateway to upstate.
