So you ride/want a motorcycle.

i’ve been wanting to get a bike for aslong as i can remember. my whole family is very involved in every type of motorcycling. i always wanted to get a bike and ride with my dad and uncles. my dad was killed on his bike 2 years ago and at the time i swore i’d never get one. now, i’m just confused as to what to do cause i still want one, and i want to ride with my uncles and friends and ride the annual bike run held for my dad, but at the same time i dont want to get hurt. so i duno.

some things, like living and breathing, are more important than having a little fun.

sorry about your dad, that sucks. :frowning:

Quoted for truth, sorry about your father as well.

helmet a must, jeans or leather not a must, , skin heals!

Ummmm, skin heals, but not like it was prior to having an accident. My friend has a scar that still causes him a lot of pain, from over a year ago when he totalled his bike in the liberty tunnel. He’s got plenty of road rash too.

get one, nothing crazy just a nice cruiser. and enjoy it. just pay extra attention to the idiots that aren’t.

if i get something its gonna be a 04+ R1. but its not like i’m gonna doin stand-ups at 80mph. i just want it to ride. but then again so did Aaron and he got hurt cause of some idiot…so thats the stuff i’m lookin at.

25 years ago my uncle was riding his bike thru an intersection and got decapitated by a semi that ran a red light. :frowning: Helmet didn’t help in that situation…

chicken shit

haha

reality sets in

cagers…the reason today why bikers aren’t respected on the roads is because they do the dumb things that dumb people do when they “think” they can squeeze through a tight spot or fly by someone who is actually going the speed limit on the highway…yes all shouldn’t pay for a few peoples dumb mistakes i’m just saying think before you act…someone might “change lanes” on you the next time you think your going to blow past them

Last year Heart Disease killed 685,089. Maybe with the money i make from saleing my bike I can have my heart replaced with a fish tank pump. So I dont have to take that chance anymore.

Only 10% of all motor vehicle deaths are motorcycle riders. If you really look at it, maybe we should sale our cars?

but when 2-5% of the vehicles on the road are bikes, and they make up for 10% of all crashes… those odds aren’t as good as you think.

(or something like that- someone correct my statistic please, I think its on that site but I know in the past 24 hours I’ve read that)

yeah and correct me If I’m worng he claims he was riding a wheelie in the tunnel when this all went down and he was hit.

These types of threads piss me off.

First just because you are a father, mother, uncle, whatever doesn’t mean you shouldn’t be on a bike. Its a form of transportation period. I have seen accidents just as bad involved with two cages. Yeah 4000lbs of steel can protect you or it can be a double edge sword and injur you or others just and bad.

Second these people that can’t walk and chew gum let along drive and talk on a phone, do makeup, shave, masterbate whatever shouldn’t be operating a fucking vehicle in the first place. Don’t get me started on the elderly people that should have had their licences stripped years ago or the 5 foot nothing people who buy vehicles they can’t even see over the dashboard in.
