Mine won’t ever be done. I’ll likely sell it half done. Yours looks good though. The 7M GTE isn’t a bad engine. There’s just alot of leg humping towards the JZ family of engines.
Ordered the 1jz.
25,000 miles est, perfect compression across the board, mated to a r154 transmission of same mileage.
I have a southbend kevlar clutch in my r154 thats mated to the 7m, so thats going to be tossed into the 1jz.
The 7m really wasn’t worth saving. Too many miles and a new one cost me like $300 less than a 1jz. The 1jz is a bullet proof block so I’ll never have to really worry about tinkering with the head stud torque or anything.
lmk if u still want help with anything man you know where i am.
I’ll help where i can, if I can, when I can.

Get on it … 2jz swap … super cheap … non-turbo … but whatever
I hope that you got your motor from driftmotion. I can’t vouch for a better shop for mk3’s. I have spent close to 5k with him. Parts always come and great price and nicely packaged. I had my motor within three weeks or less, and he told me everything about it.
The 7m motors are great for power because of the 3liters of displacement, but some of the stuff that I know about the 7m’s are that even with 1mm+ valves the head still doesn’t flow as well as a JZ motor. The stock block is only good for lower horsepower levels like around 400-500. Which is a lot, but small beans by some of todays cars. Then there is the headgasket, crank and lower rev limit.
Bah, you can build a 7M to spin pretty high. My 7M has a 6M crank, which helps.
Yah you can spin them, but not very far. The head will max out at 600hp until you put nitrous to it. The 7m was just a very poor motor. Thats why changes where made to it and it didn’t last very long. To compair to honda guys, it would be like choosing a b18b1 (non-vtec) over a b18c5 (vtec). I can show you some high horsepower 7m’s if it will make you feel better. http://www.7mpower.com/top10.shtml
I know, the 7M wasn’t a very well designed engine. Without a doubt, the JZ family of engines has their advantages. The 7M’s oiling system is weak…having a driving oil pressure of bout 40-45psi when driving down the road. But I guess it makes up for it, with its larger volume of flow its capable of.
Do you have a build thread for your supra. I tried looking but couldn’t find anything.
