what are some cheap and easy ways to get more power from a sohc ka24e?

lol… thats a good one… but im lookin for serious ones if ne one has suggestions

exhaust

and most of all a full tune up with performance wires cap and plugs…and maybe get a msd blaster coil

and another one…advance the timing all the way…i have it done on my sohc works wonders…always run atleast 89…i run 91 and dont want to take any chances on blowing it up off pre ignition

i already have a catback exhaust system and im looking for plugs and wires at the moment… do u have any suggestions on brands or ne thing for plugs and wires? and also do u know where i can find some for cheap? i was looking on ebay but they charge up the ass for shipping to canada and also there wasnt many for the sohc on there. i was also thinking of getting an intake and if u know where i can get one cheap, cause i dont have a lot of money rite now. n my brothers a mechanic so i can talk to him about advancing the timing… thanks for all the good suggestions

canadian tire will have the performance wires and plugs…and as for an intake ebay is the cheapers…all “cold air” intakes injen, apexi etc are all the exact same unless u have the apexi power adatper intake ohter than that just get a knock off from ebay

i got a nice boost in responce and etc with my KA-E with NGK 8mm wires.

DON’T get a cheap air filter!!

Get a K & N if you are going to buy cheap piping. Using a shitty air filter is one fo the worst things you can do for your engine, like buying Ebay oil or oil filter, would you do that??

i was talking about the cold air intake piping not the filter…obvouisly k and n is the way to go…thats what i use the big mother

do the intakes for the 92-94 s13 fit the 90’ sohc?

no they do not…u require a sohc intake

i just paid 40 for a set of taylor wires, they are alright, the response is a little better but nothing fantastic
