watch that windshield man, you’ll have pits in it like crazy. are you welding the shock towers or something?
after grinding the seam sealer off i decided to throw some stitches in the shock tower before i sand/prime/paint. im not going anywhere near the windsheild right now. not unless i install a full cage.
my back window is pitted from welding NEAR the car. it doesn’t take much
Looks killer:tup:
hey man, i should be all set with the t76. I can get it back to you whenever and i cant thank you enough for letting me borrow it.
some updates… thanks to breetime and sLONISMO for helping me out with the boddy work. nothing crazy, just tryin to make it look better then before.
-8an fuel rail made fo rme by my mr ct newman. gotta love freebies. just need to weld up some brakcets and powder coat it.
and a whole bunch of 1/2 aeroquip hose with a gang of 1/2 jic push lock fittings.
Now i just need to figure out what i wanna do for fuel filter and pressure regulator.
also i purchased a pt76gts with coated hotside and polished compressor. should have this badboy sometime next week.
HOLY FUCK that is pretty wicked, and i dont mean the Team.
Dang you should have called! I did NOTHING all day. Well I did eat a 1/2lbs burger but thats it.
Fuel rail looks nice.
76gts, nice! i had that on my car my last go around. you have half the cubes i had, that thing is going to scream! that undercoated VC looks kind of cool too.
are you putting an automatic in?
Yeah, that turbo is sweet :tup:Wish I had one like that.
thanks.
no automatic yet. im super poor right now without a job.
i got lucky with it, it was barely used by someone i know so i got it for pretty cheap.
motor is in for the last time. thanks for helping out mike.
Anyone know of a cheaper way log egt’s on 6cyl? altronics has a 8channel egt alert system but its close to $1000 and i just dont have that kinda cash.
engine bay looks great man
Humm, what will be faster. Newman’s BMW or your’s?
His because it will actually run LOL
well, i cleaned up my intake manifold with soapy water since last time it was used i had some oil soup inside there. I also gave it a fresh coat of paint since it was looking pretty beat. I started fitting up my injectors and rail and looks like ill be able to retain the inj harness with minor modification. ill have to take about 1.5 to 2in off each end of the fuel rail, I asked my buddy to keep it long on each side so i can cut it down to length. Ill have to get 2 tabs welded to the rail to hold it down and call it a day. fuel stuff should be here within a couple days. yay
Looks good. I will stop over during the week sometime to scope it out.
You mind as well put in the ac compressor now, you have easy access to the area.
there is no room for a/c with this new build. i hardly drive the car and probably will rarely drive it now that i have the m5 with ice cold a/c.
ok, so after the super bowl i decided to look into the fuel rail a bit more. I decided to chop off 3/4 in each side and retap. i didnt have a 1/2npt tap on hand so ill have to finish tapping that tomorow. I took some 304 ss angle and chopped it up to how it is in pictures. i drilled and tapped the rail 10/32 and counter sunk the bracket for a nice flush fit of ss flat head alen bolts. ive decided to polish the fuel rail and possibly do the hold downs in translucent grape to match my motor theme. the rails hold downs are a bit rough but ill be smoothing them out and powder coating them when i gather enough stuff to make a powder coat trip.
