Some pretty scary shit....
if its how we go, its how we go. we cant stop it.

That’s a pretty shitty attitude.

The real threat is dirty bombs smuggled here. Thank God for Jack Bauer!
yes and no

dirty bombs are more for mass panic than anything. anyone in the immediate area would be fucked, but as for long term, long range damage, they really dont have it. the explosion wont go high enough to really have a fall out. and when you detonate one of those in a city. the buildings will shield of the blast area so its pretty contained.

is it bad… yes, but is it what the movies and tv make it out to be? no

one of my many jobs in the af is being on the disaster response team that deals with threats like this… only reason im stating this is cause i dont want to sound like i just read this shit off the internet

what would you like me to say? god will save us because he loves us?

there is no way for you or i to stop it. if it happens we die if it doesnt then life goes on.

So what were the other 2 things?
If its the same show I caught, there was pandemic and global warming. Asteroids also came up.

don’t any of you watch future weapons… we have an amazing defense system
i wish i could find the episode that showed it they tested it with a nuke sized warhead and yeah lets just say i was pretty amazed

let me find a link here
http://dsc.discovery.com/fansites/future-weapons/weapons/zone2/missile-defense.html
lets see what else
oh the missle defense system is called
T.H.A.D.D
look that up as i look up a vid here

go to the surveillance section and click on THADD

I think we do have a some form of missle defense, some form of laser that will point at the projectile and heat it, causing it to explode mid-air. If not, it’s the only feasible thing I can see being used.
So what were the other 2 things?
1. anna nicole smith
 2. paris hilton

according to fox news

 1. compassion
 2. rosie

if a laser hit a nuke wouldnt we still be fucked?
nukes have been around forever and are in the hands of some competent people.

What is REALLY fucking scary is the rate at which stupid people in this country breed and multiply. All the trailer park and ghetto scumbags are having 6 kids a piece while decent, educated, and respectable people are having 1 or 2.

The media and TV promote stupidity because its “entertainment”. Legions of idiots use this “entertainment” as a guide and learning tool… and become more incompetent and retarded as they age.

We are fucked.

Not anymore f’d that tossing another missle at it.

I’m probably speaking out of my arse, but for a nuke to travel globally, it would probably have to be pretty high in the atsmosphere, and the damages it would cause a few miles up , and perhaps over a body of water, wouldn’t be as catastrophic than landing in a major metro area.

thats what i’m thinking. if we blew it up, it would probably be alot worse than it actually hitting something here. instant death>slow and painful

umm Incorrect. Nukes dont detonate if you explode anything next to it like conventional missiles.

For a Nuke to “explode” (detonate) it has to be triggered by the internal electronics.

You can shoot down a multi warhead ICBM with a conventional explosive missile and you will NOT get a nuclear detonation. You will just get metal debris from the ICBM as well as possible but unlikely plutonium leak…

ummmm…HOW AND WHY THE FUCK DO YOU KNOW THIS? lol

uhh. youtube doesn’t even work on my computer. and i don’t bother reading matters of “importance” because its not important to me. if i die, i die. if i dont life goes on. i dont feel like learning why a nuclear bomb wont explode when a laser hits it, because thats not important.

(sorry people but I just cant contain myself)

Soooo WHAT is important to YOU then???

the rest of my life?

my future in the workforce and college. my job. those things are important to me.

I dont know you well enough to really assume much about who you are based on one or two posts in a lousy forum (that would be ignorant) so take the following in stride

Herein lies the problem with the way many people (Americans) today think. People seem to only care about themselves and their own shit.
Think about this for a moment: If EVERYONE in the world thought only about their own lives, WHO would care enough to make sure you have electricity, water, sewer, and the store shelves are stocked with food, and that some asshole is not dropping bombs on your doorstep.

There is much more to the world then “your” little life. You should open your eyes and try to understand as much as possible in the hopes of MAYBE making a positive contribution to society and the world in general.

Most things you take for granted ARE important.
