attachment says Its PNG
Yeah I know, I was trying to do GIF.
Ok, now its all fucked up looking, I dont get it. I will try to fix it. Its not nearly as cool as your renderings but it was something I wanted to learn on my own.
Dr.Stevil were you also looking for a tablet? Do you have one now?
yeah, I picked up a Wacom Intuos3
post the flash when you get it fixed. Tried to learn flash but didn’t have the patience. People do some pretty cool stuff in it.
How is the tablet? Would you recommend it?
I love it so far. If you use it regularly, it’s worth every penny. Just make sure that if you’re using it for art type shit (illustrator, photoshop, etc) you get something from the intuos line (either 1, 2 or 3) as they have more levels of sensitivity. Stay away from no name brands and the bamboo series
:tspry:
I’d like to try this out. I’d also like to try the tab. I’ve been told a hundred thousand times I’d love one.
hey man, if you plan on using programs like this in the future, its worth its weight in gold. If you want to try it out you’re more than welcome to stop by and give it a shot. I’ll give you a copy of that animal pron you’ve been asking about too LOL
If you want to learn zbrush, I’ve got a training cd I’ll hook ya up with and if your computer has a serial port, I got a spaceball that you can have as well
hey, what program are you using to do flash in? The Animated gif looks ok  minus the artifacts. Keep it up man
Macromedia Flash 8
Its a lot better then that, it has a start button and sound effects and text on the screen. I am not sure why it will not save the gif. as it should also not sure what the hell that purple shit is. I have it saved as a html page on my comp. how can I upload or display that?
I have a copy I downloaded if you want it, it has Fireworks 8, Dreamweaver 8, Flashplayer, etc.
Cool stuff fellas…I’d love to post some of my work up but unfortunately it’s all confidential:(
I had been modeling and rendering in Alias for the longest time, recently switched over to Rhino for modeling and Vray for rendering. I’ve been quite impressed witht the speed and accuracy of the Vray renderings:)
Tom, Wacom tablets are a great tool…especially for drawing with, you’d love it. I’ve been fortunate enough to be using a 21" Wacom Cintique screen for the past few years, although I do miss the tablet at times. Drawing on the screen is nice, but your hand tends to cover many icons so that can get a bit annoying…
fing NICE, How do you like the Cintiq? Those things are pretty baller man, but I image that it would be awkward covering part of the image. What kind of pens are you using? Would you reccomend grabbing the other pens, or are they a gimmick? (airbrush and such).
You work for FisherPrice if memory serves me, right? How do you like it? Did you go to school for it? I’d love to get out of the mechanical design business and get into a field like that where you can be a bit more creative. What version of Vray do you use? I love that renderer, it makes phenominal images
have not messed around with 3D design in a long time… this is from like 6 years ago. Unfortunately i lost most of my work from it and these are the only pictures i have left.
I have a video i’ll host that in a few, did this in alias wavefront Maya 4 if I recall. I think Adobe bought the program now though?
very cool man
Post the video.
and you’re correct, autodesk acquired Maya within the last few years
here’s the video… http://www.jamestoomey.com/images/cfa-movie.wmv
I sat and learned Maya all summer at my networking job at UB and this was the result of my summer of fiddling. This is actually what it looked like completed and textured. Don’t know why I didn’t do any high quality photo renders of it. All I remember is setting up like 6 computers at work to render the video and it still took almost a day. Would probably take about 30 minutes on current computers though !
edit: don’t mind the gay music, this was made when the matrix was the bombshit
 Right fucking proper man! Vray was that render program you were tellnig me about, right?
Yeah, I really want to try this now. I’ve heard sketching with these new gen ones is spot on.
TREMENDOUS :tspry:
started messing around with max 2009 yesterday and figured I’d post the latest. a 1972 Dodge Challenger, it will probably be a WIP for a while. For this model I really want to put as much fine detail into it that I can… this is the start of the cars body, still a long long way to go. I’ll try to document it as I go.
very cool man!
Why a '72?
Oh, and looks accurate so far
yeah, those 1/4’s are a whore lol They don’t photograph all that well so it’s hard to tell where the actual lines are.
picked a 72 for no real reason guess I could call it a 70 lol
finished for today. Think the 1/4’s turned out ok but still need work
