Been looking at Kia Soul’s recently for the wife. It’s only a matter of time until we end up buying one, so I’m looking to see what people know about them. Anyone on here own one? Anything in particular to be watchful for? Not sure if we’ll go used or brand new at this point. Lots of factors going into making this decision so it could be something we buy next Spring or maybe a year from now. If you don’t like it because of just how it looks, then I’d appreciate it if you just kept those comments to yourself.
All I know is the ghetto hamsters seem to thoroughly enjoy theirs.
If it is from Korea why is there no e in soul? That’s all I got.
A guy at work bought one brand new and loves it he has had zero issues and follows the regular maintenance on his his is also a 5spd, my dad use to have a Kia rio and had no issues with it I can safely say Kia makes a nice car if you take care of them
I think the hamsters are good salesmen:

Clever pun!
Party rock!
As a car dealer I’ve talked to more than one girl int he past week who wanted a kia strictly because of the hamsters.
All I know is that for Halloween next year I’m renting one, getting some hamster costumes and cruising around town.
TPMS issues… Only experience I have with them.
Funny looking back at this thread now…it took 5 years but I finally soul’d out and picked this up for my wife. She ended up going back to school, then we bought a house, so this idea sat on the back burner for a while. Nothing special, but it’s the first brand new vehicle either of us have owned. Has the 2.0L with 6 speed automatic which shifts very nicely. Certainly does not ride as comfy as her old Passat, but this does offer a little bit more utility for loading stuff in the back and still delivers better gas mileage. And between the Passat sitting at 160k and my Corolla at 190k, it was about time for something with a few less miles. Here’s a few crappy pics:
I had a spectra for a while and I definitely thought it drove and looked better than any other cheaper car (think cobalt, Dodge Dart, focus, cube etc) I would actually consider a Soul. Pretty basic and cheap but decent for the money.
i bought a Rondo new in 2007 and it was awesome. never even had to take it back to the dealer after over 100,000 miles.
Sadly, I look to see if there is hamsters driving anytime I pass one.
