:werd: Can’t go wrong with NGK platinums.
platinum … just don’t use em in a turbo motor
Getting them out isn’t when you’re likely to run into problems.
Snapped off plugs are not a costly repair and still DIY.
Cross threading them on the way in is when things get bad.
A torque wrench? That’s a bit overkill.
Take a short (10") piece of heavy fuel line. Slip it over the tip of the sparkplug (the ceramic side)
That way you can dangle the plug by the hose and thread it by just turning the hose. Once you’ve got a few turns in, yank off the rubber line and finish with the socket.
And yes, you need a spark plug socket. If not, you still have to use a very deep socket.
Are the KA plugs 11 or 13 /16s?
One turn past finger tight is all they really need. DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN
Having a plug pop out is a zillion times better than stripping the threads.
That is a very good point. :thumleft:
where can i find sidedrafts more my kaE and how much
^^^ Thats how you do it!
And removing plugs from a hot head… esp on alum. is a BAD idea… let the motor cool first. It is so easy to bung up threads on alum. heads so when it hot the metal is softer.
what are you looking at in terms of hp gain,
