I received a speeding ticket in Massachusetts last week. I have been looking around online and everything I have read says the points will not transfer as long as I pay the fine on time. I was wondering if anyone has experience with an out of state ticket and whether or not it effected their NY licence?
I wonder if the 3 speeding tickets in 18months part is exempt too.
i got a ticket in MA last august, 85+ in a 65. i paid the fine and still no points…good luck!
Yes exempt because it doesn’t report back to NYS DMV.
137 in a 65.
Insurance doesn’t know about it. Just pay the fine.
^^ haha, what was it like 500$?
bump. I got a 80 in a 65 in Ohio yesterday. Wondering about points and if insurance will find out. the link that Geoff posted is no good.
here ya go.
so then nothing gets reported to ins correct?
Correct. Got a ticket in PA 3 years ago, paid the fine, nothing went on my record.
if the points dont exist, then its like nothing happened
well I guess Ill call tomorrow and see what the damage is
you’re going to call your insurance company and tell them you got a speeding ticket?
He’s going to call the state and find out what the fine is.
$130 and 2 points. the lady at the court said ohio reports to NYS dmv.
fml
The lady in Ohio is a cunt-rag then.
You won’t have any points on your NYS license, but your insurance may find out.
damnit, I was just about going to go up a tier when my insurance renewed in june for not having any ‘tickets’ within 5 years. I guess Ill just pay it and find out. maybe its time to take an online defensive driving course.
They will not know unless you tell them.
