speeding ticket

How old are you, how long have you been driving?

And it shouldn’t be $500, max I can think of if you aren’t 16 or 17 would be like $350.

Active schoolzone is double isn’t it?

My guess is $300-350, but it really depends on the judge’s mood that day.

You said it’s your first ticket but also said you went to an insurance/point reduction class last year? Did you take the class just for the insurance discount or was it arranged by the court in lieu of some ticket? Amherst judges always look at your driving abstract when setting the fine and the more stuff they see the higher the fine gets.

Those 4 kids getting killed isn’t going to help your case at all because for the next few months local law enforcement will be making examples out of any kids they catch speeding.

that^

It needs to be $5000 for anything over 3mph in a school zone.

Forreal the driving laws are WAY to lax for serious shit like school zones, work zones and drinking and driving. Drinking and driving needs to be 10 years in prison without parole

I dont have kids, but if someone hit one of my kids in a school zone because they were speeding. I would erase thier entire bloodline from the face of the earth.

Plea guilty because you deserve it.

^ Meh, the school zones on Maple are pretty shitty. I live just off Maple and I’ve never seen kids anywhere near Maple Rd. They all come on buses or get dropped off by their parents.

The school zone in the City of Tonawanda on Fletcher makes a lot more sense because the school is right on Fletcher and there are always kids walking around.

You have the most outrageous e-hatred of all time. In every post about anything you try to bring up killing people (and you’re a lazy fat ass, so it’s laughable when you make physical threats). 10 years for drinking and driving without parole? Maybe if you habitually do it and blow a .2 or something. What about completely capable guys who blow .09 but weren’t actually endangering anyone? They should have their lives ruined?

And $5000 for anything over 3mph… your piece of shit vehicle’s speedometer probably isn’t even accurate within 10%, so even if you did the limit it could easily be 3+ over and then you’d be financially crushed. Plus the police department could start writing visual tickets for that much over and rake in tons of money at our expense.

DIAF, toughguy.

psh how about transit road in depew where the school speed limit is 15. fuck that. no one in their right mind would go that slow

I did the class just for the insurance discount. This is my first time being pulled over. Im 19 but only had my lisence for 16 months if that makes a difference. Can I just show up at the court or do I need them to give me a date to come?

haha whoa dude you’re really new to this

You send in the ticket, they’ll send you a date and time and address to appear.

mail in ticket not guilty, wait for letter for court date. try to get there 2 hours eairly. people with layers will go first then they start with the order you got there

plead not guilty and mail the ticket in. they will mail you back a new court date

+1

If this were anywhere other than Amherst I’d be worried about it not getting reduced because of the school zone but Amherst traffic court is a well oiled machine. I’m pretty sure any moving violation short of running over a cop gets reduced to parking so Amherst gets to keep 100% of the fine money. The only question is how many parking tickets and for what dollar amount each.

PS… my last time there (about 4 years ago) was for 52 in a 35 (got me on Youngs right where it goes from 45 to 35). Two parking tickets, $100 each. I saw everything from one $50 parking ticket up to four $100 parking tickets. I’d love to know what the guy who ended up with four for $100 each did originally. Out of the 50-75 people there for traffic I didn’t see one NOT get reduced to parking.

I asked if I could just show up because PureXTC said:

when I got an expired reg ticket in lockport it had the date/time on the ticket already.
and the coppa even told me my court date.
I guess its different for different towns -.-

If there is a court date on the front of the ticket to appear, go on that date. If not mail it in and a month later you will get a letter in the mail. With Amherst, I believe you have mail it in anyway.

Yeah then you can kill yourself and 3 of your friends in a few weeks.

My cousin was 10 over in a school zone and he was 20 when it happened, and it was in Cheektowaga. He was awarded 2 points on his license(or a 5 hour drivers class), and a nice $450.00.

That was his first Ticket and so far his last.

Yeah, because a little speeding in a questionable school zone is the same as blowing stop signs at 70+.

Really, you suck enough in the political threads… Don’t let that suck spread to all the topics.

All tickets have a date on it, the date is usually the last day you have to send in the ticket before they get mad at you. It’s not usually the day to show up, although I think sometimes it is. And just because it has a time on it, doesn’t mean it’s the day to show up (made that mistake with my first ticket).

Maybe someone who knows more could tell us what districts have the date to appear on the ticket and what districts have the date to mail it in?

My only ticket in Amherst was for going 98 in a 55 on the 990 (before the limit was raised). I had a bad record but Im not sure what was listed because, like Jay said, every city reduces tickets so they can keep your money.

I got mine reduced to a $480 fine that I had to pay that day or they would yank my license. Oh, and I got school.
