“ALBANY, N.Y. — Amazon.com is fighting Gov. Eliot Spitzer’s plan to require online companies to collect sales tax from shoppers in New York, whether the companies are in New York or not.
Several other money-strapped states have mulled going after the taxes.

well your supposed to claim your online/out of state purchases on your income taxes as it is. IDK how many people do this, i do cuz i dont feel like getting nailed by the IRS
do you claim everything down to the penny? My CPA said that the IRS has no way of tracking that without a FULL aggressive audit. and he said that would be brought on by something OTHER then lying about the internet tax, so you would have bigger things to worry about at that point
