anyone know if the nismo front and rear lower control arms are much better then stock? they come with new harder nismo ball joints and nismo bushings. im thinking if i should order new stock ones or the nismo’s would save about 600-700 with stock. this is the last part of suspension i need to change then everything else has been done.
Pretty sure the nismo ones are the same as stock with the nismo harder bushings pressed in
What difference would you think they would make? Stock ball joints and bushings vs nismo, both brand new. So far I have, hsd coils, all SPL rear arms, SPL, solid diff bushings, subframe collers polly, SPL front tc rods, tein iner and outer tie rods, nismo steering rack bushings on a new steering rack, nismo front power brace, tanabe raer power brace, nismo rear strut bar, Megan c piller, bar, cusco, b piller bars, Cusco front strut bar, On the way is front and rear progress sway bars and new end links and bushings, as well as nismo engine mounts and tranny mount and a engine touqe damper. all that’s left to do after that is front and rear ball joints, so if new stock arms well do I could spend that money towards other things. It’s an s14 srd
Wouldnt waste my time on nismo hardened rubber stuff. Nismo stuff is just overpriced slightly better than stock rubber.
When I went from whiteline polyurethane (had it in all arms) to all front and rear spl arms it was a night and day difference. Car was more compliant, more in control, more comfortable, it was less noisy, etc… Everything worked better because it was the shocks doing the work and the arms just moved as they were intended to, no banging, no twisting, etc… Plus the fact that the whole suspension is now fully adjustable anyway I want to any alignment settings I wan. Of course I also invested in good custom shocks (that you cant buy off the shelf) koni 8611 race shocks front and rear in custom coilover housings.
Quality heim jointed arms are definetely worth the money despite the high price. If you want shit falling off your car or breaking then go get china made shit like bigs said.
Edit: And the thing with heim jointed arms, you can always fix them and not throw them away, in other words heim joints are cheap to replace if they do get worn out and FAR easier than stupid rubber that needs to be pressed out, inserted or whatever.
They are a long term investment.
Wait what white line bushings did you put in the spl arms? I’m I missing something? Is there a kit for it? Sorry I’m still learning about suspension trying to get it all done
-_- before I had spl arms, I had stock arms with whiteline bushings.
