I have been looking into some Megan products, mainly multi-link pieces for my s13. What I would like to know from you guys is how good (or bad) the products are. I have heard alot of mixed feelings about Megan products. I want to here from people with first hand experince not something about a friend of a friend of a friend…
Like I said, I’m mainly interested in the multilink peices, TC rods in particular. I would like to here, what you have, how long you’ve had it, and what you think of it.
My main concern is that for the price of the products, Im a little afraid that the quality might be bad. From pictures they look to be pretty beefy, but what are the rod ends like?
i have only installed the peices. rear traction and toe arms. They look to be nice a beefy, and made strong. They were tested all summer for durability on race cars and proved them selves worthy. As for the street i dont know, but how abusive can u really be on the street? They only came out late this summer. Like said above look at their coilover systems. they are of great quality. Varun(slipperysilvia) will sell the products to you. All of megans equiptment is good. Ive never heard of any problms with anything they sell.
Thanks guys. Im sick of people just saying “All Megan stuff is crap” but they have no experience with any of it. This is a nice breath of fresh air to have people with first hand experience put in their 2 cents. Keep it comin’
It depends on the product. Coilovers seem to be good, multi link seems to be receiving positive feedback as well, however their short shifters are pieces of crap.
the megan multilinks… their decent parts for normal driving applications and adjustability… so their the best bang for the buck … but im rocking bings rears and battleversion front tc rods… and next year maybe SPL tierods … im looking for durability not just adjustability hehe…
megan isn’t bad, but its good for **% of SON thats cheap and won’t pay more for quality parts. your suspension saves your life and more, why cheap out? but for those on a budget, megan is truly the best bang for the buck.
Im still kind of torn lol. I don’t want to be buying parts that I can’t rely on. I basically figured that my bushings were shot, so why not upgrade and eliminate the bushings. I also want to lower my car, so I want the adjustability.
I need something reliable, and adjustable. It would mainly be street use, nothing crazy, maybe a little drift here and there.
if thats the case then… megan is good for u… make sure to lube/grease it … and DONT winter drive it… daily vs a track car is… ur daily goes thru alot of time in diff types of climates and ends up building rust…
any type of multilink once ball seizes by rust it will snap the rod because it will become one solid unadjustable piece… from my experience -400$
I dont witer drive it anyways so that won’t be an issue. Is it just because the amount of snow in the winter will cause rust? Is that why you suggest not to winter drive it?
Give Megan a shot, let us know if (or when?) they break
Some would say I took a big risk going with Bings multi-link. I’m no engineer but after holding in my hands a few different brands of multi-link - I’m not worried about Bings one bit. I’m going to try my best to keep them greased and I’m not worried anything going wrong.
you end up getting what you pay for. sure for your needs it mihg tbe more then enough. dont forget it is pretty much an entry level product so if after 1 year they snap or rust out then dont come complaining as to where when you pay twice the price for the same thing it might last as long as your car does!
The one thing great about the megans is that they have a warranty that wont cost u a penny to claim.
If your item breaks under normal circumstances such as street/race use then u simply bring the product back to me and it gets replaced free. No shipping, no taxes, no broker fees etc.
They are not the best multi link you can buy, but they are for sure the best valued multi link you will find.
I waited 9 months from their release time before i ordered any into canada, just to wait and see how the durability and feedback was. The comments and reviews i got from users in the US and europe were very good so i ordered 40 pieces for a trial and so far i have had zero complaints.
Once again, its all personal preference, if you can afford 1500 dollars of used multi link on top of ure 1500 dollar coilover setup then go for it…
If not, spend 3-400 on a great set of megan multi link, and save ure other 1000 remaining for other stuff in life…
Another thing a lot of people dont take into consideration is that multi link does not get worn as much on the race track, there is far more damage and ware occuring on the fantastic roads of GTA than the ware that occurs on the race track, this goes the same for coilovers.
The pot holes, and other nonsense we see on our roads do far more damage to the suspension on our cars then the smooth surfaces of a race track…
A track is not the place to test durability or ruggedness of a suspension component that will be used 99% of the time on the normal roads/driving conditions.
Have you guys seen how bad the stock pieces are on our cars? I’m always very suprised when people worry so much about these aftermarket pieces, when our stock shit is… shit.
No kidding hey. When you think about it, anything is an upgrade. With proper maintainence (greasing) I think these things will be alright for me. slipperysilvia, is Megans warranty a limited one or is it lifetime?
Megan comes with 1 year warranty on their multi link…
You will not have to pay for the shipping of the replacement item to you either, it gets sent to me with my other shipments every week…
for example, when you buy tein coilovers , you have to ship them back to the US for warranty (work which costs 100 each way), you do not ship to the place you bought them…
