I heard from someone here, and was corrected by the same token, that the ratios are the same but that the tranny’s final drive is lower on the SR tranny.
This is why I posted this, because I was misinformed…
I was told by many people for a few years now that the 5th gear in SR
Tranny’s as with the Final Drive (Rear Diff) were infact longer due to the
Emissions standards in Japan. They wanted to keep the RPM’s down while
crusing on the highway though clearly that is all BS with these proven numbers.
This also concludes another mith that indeed the KA Speed Sensor and a
SR Speed Sensor are the same. Many people for the longest time who got
SR Motor sets used the KA sensor because they believed the Final Drive
(Rear End) Gear Ratio’s were different which would result in inacurate speed readings.
i belive the myth comes from the sr20de, i belive if you were to find the final drive for that you would find it to be different…people are easily confused…but then again…i could eb wrong…
Just like all JDM motors having ~60,000km on them… It’s more like ~60,000 miles which is ~100,000km[/quote]
adam don’t be a dick, prove me wrong, find the proof, like you just did…and it would make sence, the na sr20de has what 50hp less and god knows how much torque less, it only makes sence it would have a different ratio.
