sr swop question

Ok, I’m doing research on this swop and this guy is telling me that I need to shave or lift the turbo to avoid the rack and pinion, but i dont think ill need to if i get a red top, i think he measn an s14 or something b/c i never heard this before…

also thw wireing is giving me some trouble
some people are saying they can figure it out and some say that its soooo hard and u need a professional

the aiv will hit the steering column which is why you dont hook up the aiv…

the turbo fits fine… an rb26dett will hit, but thats another story…

Depending on your electrical know how and common sense it can be very easy.
Just as simply as find cut and solder.

Very time consuming though.

my friend says if i get a clip then it doesnt need to be rewired, u jsut need to plug the wireing into the ecu, but i think its more complicated then that

well if you get a clip is is as simple as disconecting and re-conecting.
But make sure you lable everything that your not sure of.

IMO if your doing it yourself and you’ve never done a SR swap before (or any other swwap) then get a clip. Makes it a hell of a lot easier if your new to the game.

just get an uncut harness and your job is simple…

Standalone ECU.

you always need to adjust the harness, for two reasons

A) to make the chassis connections by the passenger headlight work with the japanaese harness

B) to lengthen certain wires since the ECU is on the (wrong) side of the car.

If you need any help with wiring, i’d be glad to help out, so long as you have a full harness.
