notch top sr20, get this grind at 5000rpm and up when rippin it, thought it was turbo, turbo is healthy im thinkin now its the timing chain is movin around at high rpm, any ideas?
Can you give us anything else? to work with
runnin 8psi, holds boost, cars runnin rich, im burning a bit of coolant (no milky substance in engine or resevoir) that enough?
carf runs perfectly except for the grind that comes at 5k rpm and up
It may the turbo burning coolant…it might not be as healthy as you think.
true, wht bout the grind though, anybody had this problem or have any ideas
what kind of “Grinding” is it exactly, like a gear grind type of grind or like more of a high pitched squealy grind… etc.?
i bet its gaskets…check around ure manifold.
gear grinding, i thought it was the timing chain grinding, def not a squeel

Try recording a video and post it on youtube so we have a better idea of what it sounds like, because from what you’re telling us right now it makes no sense at all.
Could be a number of things given your descriptions. Could be internal engine failure ex. spun a rod bearing or main, could be timing chain guides, could be water pump, power steering, alternator bearings gone or starting to go. Best advise. Don’t beat on it until the problem is fixed. Doing so is going to cause more problems or damage in the long run.
its sittin in my garage right now for winter, but a little more info its got 130 +/- 3 compression across the board
