SR20 RedTop seized?

I did an sr20 swap in my car and had problems. But finally I had it running fairly good and ready to go.
I drove it gently and put only 25km on it over the First day, then parked it in my driveway. Later that evening I went to put it in my garage, it started fine idled good, I started to back up when my little brother came running at me, scared me and I stalled it. I went to start it again and IT WILL NOT TURN OVER! starter goes click and nothing happens. so I tried manually turning it over and nothing, It will not budge.
it has oil and the oil pump was working fine.
It did not over heat.
no engine/oil warning lights came on.

Any Ideas on what happened, why, and what I can do would be very helpful.
Thanks…

Are you sure you can’t turn the motor? put a 27mm wrench on crank or try to roll the car when in gear. If it does turn, it’s prolly just a starter relay it happens to old starters. It goes click and the starter does not do anything.

I dont think it’s the starter, it was turning it over like a champ befor this incident…
I tried bumping it, and it did just made the tires skid.
I’ve tried using a wrench, even tried using my 4foot breaker bar and no turn over. I’m not a little guy either…
It’s got me stumped… I put some diesel in each cylinder today, I’m going to let it soak in and try again tomorrow. maybe I’ll have some luck.
Thanks for your input though.

damn little brothers…

Try jumping the starter motor to see if it turns properly or not. Just jump the relay or the terminals and if it turns over than you know where to start looking. I suppose stalling could have seized it but sounds unlikely. You could get it up to a good speed than through it in first.

always bump start in second

if you dump it in 3rd or 4th it will have alot more torque trying to turn the motor over in 1st gear

if you get a click or a few clicks that’s the starter trying to engage but not having enough power. I think your alternator is dead. so that includes your battery. try to boost it first. keep in mind a starter uses a tone of power you only need to start the car like 6 times with a dead alternator before it wont start again.

Oh yeah forgot you can also try taking the spark plugs out and then turn it over make sure someone is in the car holding the clutch. just in case your transmission is still in gear or fucked.

Thanks for the input guys but she’s seized. I just took the starter out and tested it and it works great…
so i tried turning it over again manually (in neutral) without the spark plugs in and it still won’t budge.
and I know it’s not stuck in gear because I’ve pushed 50+ feet…
I guess I\m doing a wuick rebuild… I was suppose to be driving it out west in a week though

I don’t think it’s a piston or ring…
What is the best way to check if it’s a bearing in this engine? Can you drop the oil pan and look up?
Thanks

to drop the oil pan its almost easier to just remove the engine and tranny in one go. Good luck man

check all the simple stuff first, it could be something jammed between the flywheel and bellhousing or something retarded, split the engine from the tranny if u can. pull off the valve cover

Clutch and flywheel are brand new just put then in this winter, no problems there…
Tonight I pulled the engine out and put it on a stand. Found out that I had missed oil sensor plug when I put the harness back on
Tomorrow I’ll pull the valve cover and oilpan to try and find the damage…
Thanks, hopefully it wont be too expensive to replace w.e. is wrong…

Engine’s apart, found out I spun a bearing. New bearings (being shipped out tomorrow morning) and a micro polish on the crank and I should be okay.
Should be running again by Sunday.

Now find out why it spun.

How’s the oil pump? Check it to be sure.

when I got it had a badly dented oil pan, and I had never owned a sr befor at that point so I did not know what the pan supose to look like. So the first start up it didnt get any oil
when I replaced the pan I looked for flakes and slivers but didnt find any, at the time I thought I had gotten really lucky… to be honest, I still feel lucky that it wasn’t worse.
anyway I’ve double checked over everything else and gotten second opinions and everything else is in great shape.
Thanks for the concern though.

i have bearings if u want
