well, here it goes… after stripping down my '89 Hardbody KingCab, it’s time to put it all back together. I’ll be updating this thread every step of the way.
after two days of wire brushing and painting, we have a nice clean frame.
new release bearing (left)…

custom tranny mount…
new rear tranny seal installed…
tranny install complete…
after spending the last year on jackstands, she’s finally on the ground!
custom (read: ghetto) exhaust…
Deatchwerks 550cc injectors…
loving this so far… must be nice to be able to pull the body off to do the work…

i do notice though that you painted all of the rubber… bushings and balljoints, etc. Those will need to be replaced in the near future, the rubber cant breath it will dry out and start falling apart pretty quickly afaik.

i noticed you mentioned that this will be a drag truck… what are the plans exactly? any motor work? do you have a target e/t or mph? going to stick with street tires or slicks? etc
