What are the wires for the ignition for the s13 sr20det?
I want to hook up my FAL dual low-profile fans to the ignition cause right now, it’s connected the battery via temperature sensor. The hot weather makes the fan turn on and stay on even after my car shuts off. I had to jump-start the car twice already cause the fan drained the battery.
Actually, I want to know is this an appropriate way of hooking up the fan and sensor? Would the ignition sustain any damage due to the strong current that the fan draw?
Use a relay with switched power from the ignition/radio/headlights to control it. Just look for a wire in the engine bay that you can tap into that will have +12 volts with key on, and nothing with key off. That way the fan will only see power with key-on.
sorry, I’m really terrible electrical stuff, please excuse my ‘noob’-like questions…
I tested all the wiring in the fusebox and it seems that even when the car off, there’s still electricity be drawn. Where is a place where I can safely wire my temp sensor so that the fan can drawn the necessary amperes without melting anything?
and if I need a relay, how do I wire it up? (I’m not sure where each of the 5 prongs are connected to)
can anyone tell me where I can draw power under the hood for my temp sensor that is controlled by the ignition?
