heres the story…i just got my s13 back from a shop where it was repaired for a couple of things fram rail patching, minor driver side accident damage witch also damaged the side mount intercooler, but all those things were replaced and about 2 grand later its out of the shop and theirs this problem with the engine turning off when ever the rev is low…mostly after its revving high and when it goes down it shuts off.even while driving in reverse:confused:…
i asked around and couple people told me it may be the fuel pump or a injector problem??..Any suggestions or help anyone…plz feel free to comment …thanks for the support SON!>
Make sure you’re not in gear when letting the engine go back down to idle.
yea even when im not in gear it still idles down and trys to turn off or does…
check for vacuum leaks.
yeah, im thinking its a vacuum leak im gonna get that checked out thanks guys
SOunds like a vacuum leak, easiest way to tell is how you are boosting. Any vacuum leak is the same as a boost leak, so if you don’t build proper boost its a very good indication there is a leak somewhere.
If you put on another used SMIC, check the side tanks as they are known to corrode. If you did a FMIC and used a cheap eBay intercooler, make sure to check the welds around the end tanks as they are ocassionally leaky.
If you need more info drop me a PM. I am a mechanic so if you want me to have a look at it free of charge let me know and we can make arrangements.
In any event, sounds like a vacuum leak, just check how your boosting at it should give you some insight.
hey guys, i have the exact same problem with my sr20det blk top. Any new news ?
if you have an atmopheric bov when the air is dumped it will cause that.
or a vacume leak.
