just found that the eng cont fuse in the engine bay fuse box was blown.
^ that might help.
ok… that not getting the voltage. im getting 12 on all injectors. But injectors still not shooting… As im cranking i hear them clicking, i can hear this cuz my battery is almost dead. Does this mean there shooting fuel? or does it only mean that there opening and closing?
Time to buy a fuel pressure gauge. For the injectors, it will be very hard to tell if its firing just by the sound, especially during cranking.
When you took the plugs out, was it pumping out gas fumes??
i just put the battery to charge so ill try later.
I think i figured it out… BAAD BATT GROUND! I moved the jumper cable to the strut tower and the coil-pack ground got hot and started to smoke… then i moved to the thermostat inlet and the pos lead on jumper cable started to smoke… SOOOOOOOOO using my oh so large amount of electricity knowledge(not) this would be caused by to much resistance from the battery positive lead to the negative lead causing the wires to heat. So maybe if i get a better ground it will start.
^ uh… i swear i said to sand down the grounding spot so that it make a proper ground not on the painted surface. If you did that then there should be no problem with grounding the battery.
ye the ground is fine… something is holding back the car… I hear the clicking im getting correct fuel pressure. but the fuel isnt going into the cylinder! GRRRRRRRR does coilpacks click to?
also i noticed when you start the car… the red led on the ecu flickers it doesnt go completely off… supposedly that means that the car isnt reading the cas… but then why is injectors or coilpacks or whatever was clicking in sequence clicking?
im offering cash for whom ever can fix this car.
if you have fuel and spark, the next thing to check is timing
Well, if you are getting fuel to the rail, and you say the injectors work, than its only logical that fuel would be going into the cylinder. Try cranking the engine a couple times, than pull out a spark plug and put a q-tip at the end of a rachet extension or coathanger to check if the cyliner has fuel in it. If it does than you have an issue with the spark/timing. Should there be an issue with the spark, get a tester to see if you are actually getting any spark at all. If you are, check timing. Other than that there is in theory nothing from stopping the car to run.
Oh and take pictures of the spark plugs and post it up here. Sparkplugs are kinda like a gauge of how the engine is running and would help in the trouble shooting.
ill cheeck that… also the plugs are from the other sr that was in there, but i inspected the plugs from it and they where in great condition from looking at the colour ect…

i meant i inspected the original plugs when i was replacing them
Update: have spark still no fuel:(… i got 12 volts to the injectors but still no fuel… ugh!
check to make sure injector wires are running into the ecu.
have we tried swapping injectors?
Could be the signal to the injectors from the ecu also (as renegade has mentioned)
injectors are clicking but no fuel… WHY WHY WHY!

there is pressure… in spec… JUST CLICKING BUT NO FUEL UGH!
I was wondering if someone has a extra set of injectors i could try… or if someone could plug up my sr injectors and see if they shoot fuel…
well, its highly unlikely that all injectors are not spitting fuel if everything is correct as you say (fuel at line with sufficient pressure, signal going to injectors). I can see one or two not fuelling but all of them is kinda sketch. Are you just checking one cylinder or all?
Made some progressssssssssssssssssssss:) well i got fed up ripped out the harness extended fuel injector wiring to make a nice clean look since i have the greddy intake plenum. Pluged up the knock sensor and aicv, and took the cas out put the car in the on position, spun the cas and i see fuel shooting out of each injector!!! now how hard should it be spraying? looks pretty weak to me.
Anyway tommorow i will retime the engine and then see if it shoots with cas in. If it doesnt shoot what does it mean?
