Hey guy(and gurls) what’s up, I was looking to sell my black conquest, or trade it it, and purches a new car. I don’t really want to get rid of it, but I still have my white 88 conquest that is being made into a drift car…but anyway…I was looking around and trying to find sumthing cheap, reliable, and still pretty quick. And I ALWAYS used to clown my friend because he loves the Srt4. And I would always say “its just a pos neon lol” but I test drove 1 the other day just 4 the hell of it. And I was VERY impressed. Drove very good and was very fast. It had alotta power, and throw me in my seat threw all the gears. And the best this it was a 04 with 18k miles and it was only $12999 with warantys and everything lol. So I was just seeing what everyone thought about the srt4 good or bad, b4 I go buy 1.
see here’s my thing… yes its a neon, but man it runs! I dont think you can find anything else that is 3 years old with under 20k miles and as quick as an srt-4 for 13k or less.
Cheap for an 04 with that amount of miles. I payed 20 out the door with 0 miles on my 2 years ago.
04 is the better year out of the 3, already has the upgraded injectors compaired to 03 and LSD. 05’s stock computers are picky about touching the boost. Staged kits take care of that.
tons of cars roaming around SRT4forums.com with over 400hp on the stock block(big turbo of coarse)
I can attest to daily driver goodness… car is semi stock(boost up 5lbs/3"dp w/ cut out) and ive never had a single problem with it. Has around 40k on it and it sat for winter last year for 3 months.
The cars are fun and thats about it. I’ve had mine for a little over a year and i’m kind of bored with it and ready to sell it or trade it for something else.
I think my biggest concern with this would be FWD. Even with a LSD, I can’t imagine traction being that great.
I don’t know how you powerful FWD guys do it. I know I couldn’t put up with it.
Edit : I thought about it, and I really have no idea, because I’ve never actually driven a high power FWD car, so take my response with a grain of salt.
I am an AWD loyal, and I’ve never owned a fwd car. I drove my friend’s fwd turbo laser once, and it was a little frustrating. His was not putting down incredible HP, but didn’t have LSD either.
I love my AWD, and wouldn’t want to give it up, but the SRT4s do seem to put down a lot of power for cheap.
