stalling at high boost *need help*

ok… turbo ca18et

at first… the car woudln’t even hold a boost…
but after I changed the fuel filter… it’ll hold a boost

but not the max boost

I’ll try to explain

ok my boost gauge is like this… -5 | 0 | +5
simple one. .
before. the filter change… it would go to the half way mark btw 0 and +5
and the car would stall and restart as it is moving

well after the fuel filter change… my car can hold the boost a the same half way mark now

but… if I try to floor the gas pedal (open throttle) as the boost goes beyond the half way mark on the boost gauge… about 4000 rpms…

the car stalls… then restarts b/c the car is moving
so basically I can’t even get to the +5 boost

does anyone ever had this problem w/ a turbo car?

the car doens’t have a BOV in it… , just straight from the turbo to the intake…

thanks

ed

No BOV and No Intercooler?

What is the gauge measured in PSI?

sounds like you might need a fuel pump, although a walburo is not needed for a stock ca application.
my car also did that right after i swapped my engine because vacume was not set up right.

is it actually stalling or sputtering?
if its sputtering it could be a misfire …ie: plugs arent gapped properly.(to wide)

could be a boost leak.

:werd:

well… I have a z31 fuel pump now… soo I’ll be testing that out tomorrow…

maybe it’s just in need of a better fuel pump.

do a cold compression test and check out your turbo, maybe your idiotic lack of a BOV has blown your turbo force feeding your engine shrapnel. and just because you’re building boost, doesn’t mean your turbo isn’t fried.

do that before going out and buying a new pump you don’t necessarily need.

uh… before you start calling pepople an idiot or my car being idiotic…

understand what this car is… it’s a 200SX WITH A STOCK TURBO

IT IS A CAR W/ TURBO THAT DOES NOT COME WITH A BOV STOCK

now that that’s taken car of… ok…

soo the car is getting fuel …

at almost over 4000 rpm… aat 2nd gear… the car stallls … a huge jerk…

soo confuzzled…

so it just jerks…like its loosing power?

or does it actually shut off?

check your plug gap.

shuts off and restarts
