Also, it’s been constantly stalling, most commonly under braking. Or when I heel-toe: the revs go up (obviously from pressing the throttle) and then they suddenly drop and it sometimes stalls. It seems like it’s been running a bit rich too, and some times too lean.
This started yesterday morning.
Can’t be a vac/boost leak as the gauge is still reading 7psi (taken from inside the intake manifold). Can’t be a shot gasket or anything because the turbo is spooling.
Just because you are making boost, doesnt mean you dont have a vaccum leak. When under no throttle at idle what is your vacuum reading? When under deceleration what is your vacuum? Just because you are making boost doesnt mean their isnt a boost leak. Check your turbo manifold gasket for leaks, I had the exact same problem before, the gasket was fucked. As for the stalling, try tightening up the bov a bit, or adjust your tps. I can almost guarantee you that the stalling after the rpms fall, is caused by a “too-loose” bov.
Maybe you’re not heel-toe’ing enough… you should mention that more, cause it makes you sound like a pro !! Watch F&F again, make sure you’re heel-toe’ing properly, then double check you’re hoses…
ALSO: I don’t even have to press the brakes for the car to stall, sometimes just decellerating in neutral will kill it. I cleaned the mafs and the throttle body, but it didn’t do anything.
anyways, no it’s not a joke, those are the exact symptoms. I know the problem makes very little sense.
I’m running a SAAB recirc valve, no BOV. But I guess it could be that.
No to changing flywheel or clutch.
If it was indeed a boost/vac leak, wouldn’t the idle be f00ked too? She idles perfect.
I figured if I’m making boost but the car isn’t boosting, it could be fuel? or spark?
On a good note, I took it to a mechanic who’s gonna spend the day checking everything out. I’ll get back to everyone with whatever he finds. Thanks guys.
