state run vehicle inspection station.

Hey Guys,

Does anybody have the address or phone number of the state run vehicle inspection station in erie county?

Looking for the place that is run by the state, not a private auto repair business.

Thanks.

I assume your car is being sold alot of repair work, or you assume it will be. If your worried about being sold repair parts, I would be really worried that the state run place would fail you, with no give at all for halfway worn stuff. Just my view.

or its being sold a lot of repair stuff… and he is getting scammed and wants to bust the local schmuck who is trying to rip him off

No such place Justin.
Back in 90-91 the whole inspection business was supposed to change where there was supposed to be one inspection station (or2) per county, run by the state. And it would be pass/fail no repairs. This was all mandated by the epa clean air act of 1990. The state even bought land to build these stations on (1 on dingens where dmv vehicle safety is now located) but there was alot of pressure by garagemans assoc. dealer assoc. etc… and the idea went south. Instead they hired a bunch of facility inspectors instead.

If you have a problem or question feel free to PM me and i’d be happy to help/guide you.

Thanks so much.

Yeah, the dickheads at heinrich chevrolet failed my girlfriends car saying it was “unfixable”, and conveniently offered to trade the car in on a new chevy.

My mechanic looked at it on the lift just now, and everything about the car is a little worn but nothing is unsafe, and it should pass anywhere.

bring it to me saturday i will tell you flat out if it passes or fails. the tierods def fail so do the control arm bushings.

quite possible THE WORST dealership I’ve ever done business with. I wouldn’t recommend them to my worst enemy

they will tell you anything to make a sale

Back in 91 My wife went to heinrich (because I knew someone there) to trade in her 86 camaro on a 91. Her 86 was F’in clean low mileage etc… they offered her like 2200. Thinking that was low we went over to Keller where they gave her 5800 ???

Steve…

My girlfriends mom works in the billing dept at heinrich. So we go there only once a year to get our free inspections.

I suppose free inspections aren’t always the best ones. They had some new techs in there, not the usual guys.

yeah, understandable… if you got a hookup, that’s cool.

I would never go there though after buying the GTO. Not only did it take FOREVER (I literally sat in the waiting room for 8 hours without so much as a “how are you doing”) while they inspected it and detailed it. Mind you, this was supposed to take 1 hour (confirmed by them) since I was on my lunch break.

When it was finally time to leave, nobody could find the keys to the car… The retarded salesman took it with him on a test drive with another customer.

inside the car, the lenses on the doors (which I asked them to fix before delivery) were still broken. The interior was VERY dirty, along with the outside (no detail was done) and to top it all off, the fuel tank was on E. The buick I traded in had a totally FULL tank of fuel

that pissed me off to the point where I’d rather do the shit myself if it means never having to step foot in that shithole again. No offense to your g/f’s mom or anything… but that place stinks on ice

None taken, her and I joke that we would never buy a car there, its such a ripoff.

I haven’t bought a car from a real dealership pretty much ever… Always went to my credit union, got the cash, then found a car on autotrader.com or ebay.

Drive the car for a few years, then sell it on ebay, and let some schmuck pay 1000 bucks to ship it to texas or whatever.

lol

still mad you got rid of the bird

Seemed to get rid of it at the right time, lucky for me.

I wouldn’t have the ambition to work on it (my new house has parking for 1 car, and no more).

I wouldn’t want to put 93 octane into it.

I drove the wheels off that thing for 2 years, and ended up making a few grand on it when it sold.

I still have a bulletproof 4r70w sitting in my garage that I haven’t had time to sell…

Maybe down the road I’ll pick up a nice one, then build it myself…
