i think we’re paying him a lil bit more than he’s worth, but he’ll be good for the team anyways. and i hope thats true about dawkins meeting with us, we could use a guy like him.
hawkins
my bad. when i saw duce staley’s name, i was thinkin brian dawkins from the eagles secondary. i think thats his name. who is hawkins then lol?
i think the worst mistake they did was get rid of tom donahoe and kept bill cowher
yeah caus the bills are rocking the league right now with tom up there.
a guy takes a team to the playoffs 11 out of 14 years…i consider that pretty good. cowher can stay as long as he wants.
nobody the steelers have ever let go was a serious mistake. the largest mistake was sticking with a secondary who was designed to stop the run while the league changed to a pass 1st league. think about it…scott/washington/flowers…all large physical d-backs who were there to stop the run and were NEVER considered great cover backs.
the steelers are 1 or 2 offensive linemen & 1 good cover d back away from greatness again (a more mobile qb wouldn’t hurt either)
1 player ain’t going to fix much true, but it will free up that 1st round pick to get a d-back or OL position. i like it, they don’t go out & get free agents much but this one is a great choice.
duce is eh, and he lost his job to westbrook, and westbrook isn’t even eh… and unless they fix that line they can have walter payton and it won’t do shit cause maddox (who’s an ok qb when he has time to throw) will either be sacked or chuckin up a pick

thats not the total truth! the running game will open up the passing game. i dont like tommy maddox because hes a very 1 dimensional QB.
Bill Cower is great motivator. But he has always and will always, need his asst. coaches to do the thinking. In the past he was to quick to take all the credit for the sucsess and stepped on a lot of toes. I think he has finally learned that it takes a team, even with coaching.

he lost his starting spot because he boy-cotted training camp last year…
Originally posted by rookee point is, he’s no more than a 1, maybe 2 year solution. and no, he lost his job cause even when he did come back westbrook was still better.
No…because some football teams have rules for that kind of thign, and if he boy-cotted camp then started it would have stirred alot of shit up. he was lucky to still be on the roster after that:rolleyes:
