Stitch Welding?

OK so i might sound like a complete Noob here but thats only because i am. From my Understanding its just taking the factory Spot welds and connecting them like A connect the dots drawing? or am I completly wrong.? what is the significance and advantages/disadvantages to doing this? say on a 90 Coupe?

stitch welding requires striping the factory glue and doing about 1" welds every other inch.

I did it to mine in the front end and it made a huge diffrence and I didnt even do the towers but just the front chassie and inside under the carpet on the tranie tunnle and seat rales and my convertible roof some too.

I strongly recomend it. Id say you will get the best performance if you stitch the towers, the engine bay where the frame rale meet the fire wall, the rear towers, tranie tunnle and seat reinforcements.

so pretty much go alover the cars welded seams and do this?

Yeah, as much as you feel like working…and try to do the strut towers, i think those are one of the more crutial things.

Sweet thanks for the help guys

If you’re going to do it yourself don’t do it like the pics. Make the welds no longer than 1", about 2" between welds, and jump around all over the place while doing this. Don’t just do them all in a row. Heat distortion is a bitch.
