Welding!

Is there anyone out there that can do some welds for me? I need the rust repaired behind my strut towers. I need these done fairly quickly, as they are the last things needed done before I can begin putting my car back together. I’ve allready cut out the rust, I just need them patched up. I don’t mind paying some for the welds, and I allready have 18 gauge steel.

Message me if anyone is interested. Please and thanks.

I’d tackle it if you were in Calgary.

Yeah, I thought of you guys, but I think the tow to Calgary would be a tad pricey.

id go to a welding shop. Find the person most likely to smoke pot and play vid’s. Ask him if he wants a side job cuz he is prob needs the money!

I might be able to help you out, i’ll let you know tomorrow.

Please and thanks

Bump. Please, anyone?

Can I jump on this bandwagon? I also need a someone to do a tiny tig weld for me (Just welding in a bung). Otherwise I will end up JB welding it :?

ewwww…what is it? Just a o2 bung or what. I can pick it up this weekend and mail it back to you.

Man all those guys out there with J-B weld tickets are going to put me out of business. :E

Its just a re-circ bung going onto an alluminum intake pipe. didn’t wanna pay more than 20 bucks total. mailing it back would be not worth the hassle, but thanks for the offer!

dont let any one do it if your wleding sheet metal dont want holes blown threw your car .

If you can see a little rust on the strut towers its likley that its all rusted out under that… It could get pretty scary. Also, who ever it is that is welding on your car… If anything goes wrong you could be sued later… Just a FYI.

I guess you’vew never owned or looked closely at an S13. But if the rust was bad enough that you have a hole big enough that need to be welded, find a new shell

Nah, a new shell isn’t needed. Luckily it isn’t structural and the rust pretty well stuck to one part of it, didn’t spread much.

Also, how can I be sued?

Thats exactly what I was talking about when I said it could get scary. The fact that the cars rust out in the strut towers actually bothers me a lot. You would think nissan would have worked on coming up with a solution for it considering that its such a important structural location. Welding on the supsension or brake systems of a car requires that the person must be certified do to so I belive. I can’t think of many things that would suck more then having your front suspension give out while going around a offramp on the highway. The level of vibration in that area means your welder better know what he is doing…

yeah… we started a grease fire in the strut tower of my old car by welding strut bars
