One more record on the books! Congrats Chris, and what a great pass!

I’m sure you saw the X loaded with GoPro’s… Stay tuned for an amazing video from Articzap Media!

Ok we can keep this on track for the tread as I see you want to defend the Corvette honor. There are probably 10 vettes to every one supra but I would suggest looking into which one has gone quicker on a manual trans. Feel free to start a thread to debate this if you wish.

Cool pics !

Figured I’d share this. These are the overall fastest X’s for this year so far. I’m sure I will get pushed down the list but looking at their mods they have I think I’m doing alright for bolt on parts lol http://i1333.photobucket.com/albums/w630/moralec31/EA87AC65-462F-4392-88D6-4C559389D74E_zpsnm6ohsou.png

that diagonal weight seems real high. congrats on the record though that’s awesome!

Who was driving?

Emery ran the 11.16 at 120. I ran the 11.18 at 121. So I guess it doesn’t really matter who drove right? Haha

Holy fucking deer running across the track!

That fastest evo x list is funny.

‘stock block, stock turbo, bolt ons’

Nearly everyone else on the list has built blocks/aftermarket turbo.

Even more impressive!

sure is! Goes to show what a little weight reduction and a proper setup can do

exactly what i was thinking great job Chris/Stm crew!! why no meth though?

Also im guess alot of those guys on the list are NOT cuttin 1.4 60’s!!

Are those bellmouth intakes proven to make a difference?

Why would I need to use methanol on the car? It’s just one more thing that can fail and it over complicates things for no reason. As far as the bell mouth intakes, I don’t have a comparison from last year as far as power but swapping to e85 and doing the intake I picked up like 60 hp/70 torque. But I’m sure the smaller brakes and wheel/tire combo had some helping in that too. I wanna say Chris carbee had the prototype and it picked up 30 hp from the factory setup.

Parts ordered up for the evo 8/9 rear diff conversion. Car should be ready to rock out again shortly here

Is it straight bolt on? or do they make some sort of conversion kit?

I had to order up the rear diff mount through Shepard racing which bolts it to the rear subframe. The side diff mounts from my factory X rear diff swap over to the new one and I also had to order axles from driveshaftshop as they are different length than the factory X axles. So I now have 1000 hp rear axles and a diff that hopefully won’t blow apart like the factory X one did lol. Forgot to add that the factory drive shaft from the transfer case is also used but just requires the nuts and bolts from the evo 8/9 to work properly

Did that rear diff take some hard hits because of the use if the ebrake during the launches?

IIRC it lets the front tires spin (and puts a load on the engine) until you release the ebrake and then transfers all that power to the rear diff instantly to give you a harder launch.

X…

I don’t have a cable ebrake anymore in the car. The car has a hydraulic staging brake which when you pull back on it it clamps the rear brakes and stops the car from moving, similar to an ebrake but you can preload the driveline better. I think the rear broke because of my error to be completely honest. I never used a staging brake up until that day, so that combined with the slicks for the hard launches took it out I believe. In the X’s though it’s not uncommon for the rear differential to go if you primarily drag race the car.

I figured it was something like that.
