Anyone know the stock final drive ratio for the USDM s13 VLSD diffs?
4.08
All s-chassis are the same as far as i know. However there are rumors that CA cars came with a slightly smaller rear end
You are correct… I found some other intersting stuff too check this out. Apparently different in some of the S chassis.
Final drive ratios
S13 w/ KA- 4.083
S13 w/ CA18DE- 4.375
S13 w/ CA18DET- 4.363
S13 w/ SR20DE- 4.111
S13 w/ SR20DET- 4.083
S15R w/ SR20DET- 3.692
But then i found some other ones that seem to have some slightly different numbers as well as many more.
Z33 - MT - R200 - 3.538
Z33 - MT - R200V - 3.538
Z33 - AT - R200V - 3.357
Z32TT - R230V - 3.692
Z32 - R200V - 4.083
G35 - Sedan - AT - R200 - 3.357
G35 - Sedan - MT - R200V - 3.538
G35 - Sedan - AWD - AT - R200 - 3.357
G35 - Coupe - MT - R200V - 3.538
G35 - Coupe - AT - R200 - 3.357
G35 - Coupe - AT - R200V - 3.357
Q45 - R200V - 3.538
R32 GTR - RB26DETT - MT - F160 - 4.111
R32 GTR - RB26DETT - AT - R200 (Mechanical LSD) - 4.111
S15 - MT - R200H - 3.692
S15 - AT - R200V - 3.916
S14 - KA24DE - 4.083
S14 - SR20DET - MT - R200V - 3.692
S14 - SR20DET - AT - R200V - 3.915
S13 - KA24DE - 4.083 - (Both R200 and R200V)
Unverified (but speculated):
J30 - 3.916 - (I found several sources indicating this number but I don’t have a J30 FSM so I couldn’t truly verify)
R32 - 4.363
R33 GTS-T AT - 4.36
R34 - 6MT - RB26DETT - 3.96
Hopefully this helps someone else too looking for some more easy torque in exchange for some top speed. Also explains why CA’s can feel quick even with less HP.
S15R w/ SR20DET- 3.692
Are you sure thats right? For some reason I dont think it is… I could be wrong, but I’m sure its not that…?
yeah its right
S15 - MT - R200H - 3.692
Yup thats the helical diff. And remember the S15 has a 6 speed. so the extra cog in the box makes up for the longer rear end
what is a helical diff?
maybe you know something i dont but the only other style of differential gear cut that i know is called “hypoid”…
[quoted from website]Aftermarket diffs come in two basic flavors: clutch-type diffs like the KAAZ or Cusco units, or helical-gear differentials like the Quaife. Which is best depends on what you want to do.[end quote]
Good old sport compact car. Its like a 2-way but it uses gears but on an angle instead of mini-clutches.
