I’m running a Tomei unit from a Skyline and it’s a 4.36. Works fucking pimp.

note: skyline diffs have 5bolt axle shaft flanges
i am running a r33 vlsd gtst diff with 4.36 final drive and its sweet.
quick question: does the diff need shimming (backlash?) if you swap ring/crown gears?
Yeah, once I went to a 4.36, car was noticeably quicker. What’s a stock VLSD ratio?
4.083 for USDM S13s and S14s.
i wold go with a skyline diff if i could find a open diff to weld. vlsds are so garbage. and mee too poor to be baller like pants and have a 2way.
Check out a GTR diff. Clutch type man. No need for welding. Not viscous and hella more driveable.
