Straightblade, disposable razor, or electric razor??

No, not at all. Go check out the old school shaving crew on some bigger forums. They is craaaaaaazy.

what method does Daddie use? his face/body is always silky smooth.

I use a double blade disposable. I can never get a close shave with it though unless I shave first with the grain, then shave again against the grain. It sucks.

Fry thanks for all that information, I think I might be trying that soon.

^ I assume you are posting while on break at work?

Who the hell has enough time for that BS in the morning?

I recently started using a mach3 in the shower because it’s ultra fast and close. I get the water as hot as my face can take and then hack away. Amazingly this gives me less irritation then using shaving creme and a sink - must be the hot water.

I have a shave coming up at The Art of Shaving, those are the best. I have a kit from them and it works like a charm

damn it, now im busted. But, hey im making good progress considering theres only 2 people here today. I should have most of the shipping done by 4.

And as for the article Fry posted, ill have to read it later. I skimmed through it last night, but didnt really read it.

yeah, if you can shave by feel, or have a mirror in your shower, it is the way to go. The hot water does the trick.

Had that since June and love it. Always had Norelco’s before that, but the cheaper ones.

Bump because over a year later and I finally manned up and made the switch. And man do I not know what the fuck I’m doing . Gave it a first shot tonight, and after making my way all across my face, I think I accomplished what normally would have been half a shave. Got a lot of practicing and learning to do.

I dont shave anymore, only for job interviews. besides that its the trimmer with no guard on a couple times a week

Fry was spot on- made the switch two years ago or so and haven’t looked back.

Clean cut look will never be out of style.

How long did it take you to adjust? I feel like it’s going to take me months before I get the hang of it. I mainly made the switch in hopes of reducing irritation. But I feel like I’m going to be sacrificing closeness in my shave with the old school method. I probably just need a lot of practice.

over a year later and I still use the disposable, its not as close as id like it, but i honestly cant be bothered.

Really? Like it didn’t shave very close? It may be the angle of your dangle. The blade should be something like 30 degrees off your face. Light touch, let the weight of the razor do the work, short stroke. Or maybe you’re just burly as fuck.

Anyhow I’m really happy with the combination I’m using now. Taylor Avacado shaving cream with Trumper’s lime skin food. Works awesome, feels good, smells good. I had tried more expensive Gentleman’s Refinery aftershave and some sort of scottish shave cream and didn’t like it as much. I mean, the aftershave made my face feel like a baby’s ass, but I like the skin food’s cooling/moisturizing effect better. Only now I crave guacamole all day long. Weird…

Combination of both really. I tried playing with the angle but was cautious not to cut myself. I felt some strokes were a little tough and thought maybe that was too severe of an angle. Definitely need some work on my dangle skills ;). As for burly, well I do have quite a lot of facial hair growth. It’s enough that I should probably shave daily if I wanted to look good, but I normally stretch it to every other day to give my skin a break. Keep in mind again, this was my first go at it. Hopefully I’ll make some small improvements over time

Anyone else shave their head? and not with clippers, I’m talkin about to the skin… I have been trying different things and so far am not 100% satisfied with what I have tried. Fry I may try the razor you posted for my neck and then try it on my head… think it would work well?

Haha yeah I shave once a week usually and switched to this stuff because I have sensitive skin and neon toys leave me all razor burned, so my advice may apply best to fellow candy asses. :stuck_out_tongue:

Probably. Cutting hair is cutting hair I guess. If nothing else old fashioned razors have way sharper blades than the multi-blade grocery store crap. You can hear/feel the individual hairs pop when you shave with a real blade.
