After rebuilding my 90 hatch for 4 months I’ve got it back on the road and drivable.
the only issues I have right now, is htat I find the pedal to be super sensative I just touch it and the rmp spike, as well when I lift my foot off regardless of how slow or fast I do it the car jerks as it decelerates.
This is a totally 100% stock kae engine. I’ve got cusco comp 2 coilovers and cusco front tension rods installed. But I don’t see how they would effect anything. Although the front tends to bounce a little more that I had originally expected…
That’s it my friend…it’s adjusting is sensitive so start slow, don’t change the angle too much. Once tightened again it’ll feel MORE sensitive (wrong way) or a bit better (right way in your case).
You could also try checking or SLIGHTLY loosening the throttle cable.
If anyone out there has crappy throttle response, make sure your throttle cable is tight and try adjusting the TPS.
Good luck, and yeah, refer to the FSM, i’m going from memory…
Building revs slowly is another matter…i’m talking more about the “feel” and instant touch to the gas pedal…but I guess still worth looking at. Especially if you’re gas pedal flaps around or sags before revving/accelerating etc…
^^ It DOES do that… Eureka! Also, when I was checking it, I found out that my throttlebody doesn’t open all the way. How I checked this, was by putting a brick on the gas pedal, and looking in the throttlebody. Then I took off the brick, and yanked on the cable myself, and I found that the throttlebody would open more. But I just assumed that it wouldn’t make that much of a difference…
