stripped spark plug thread(NEED HELP)

ok today i did a compression test (REDTOP sr20)and i realized that the thread in the block for the second spark plug is stripped and the guy i bought the car from failed to mention this i wont mention any names.

So i would like to know what kind of problems will i run into because of this weird fitting sparkplug??? any solutions if possible PLEASE

what kinda numbers did you get? same on all 4 cylinders?
generally, anything over 150psi is normal, as long as there’s less than 10% variance between cylinders.

i basically got 150 all across

that’s great… no need to worry.

would you expect the readout to be less if the test were done with the fuel rail off?

could one of the moderators please move this thread to the need help section. thank you.

Why is it in here? You’re not asking for any help

I do need help but i needed to know if there is a solution at all, but if osme one know where i can get it re threaded let me know and (do they have to open the block? because of the metal chips!?)

You need to figure out the sections.

Thanks for the sweet PM. Thread has been reopened.

hm well the sparkplugs seal from the top so as long as you can get the appropriate torque on the spark plug without pulling threads you should be fine. as for the metal in the motor its likely already too late if you could have saved anything, so just let it go

Put in a helicoil with the same thread pitch as your spark plug, thats how the pro’s repair them, and so should you…

problem fixed thanks guys!

so how did you end up fixing it??
