i have a 92 with red top sr20
last night i was driving on 401 doing about 140 and the car just turned off
so i pulled over and opened the hood and there was oil every where i didnt try to start it i just tow it home
this moring i didnt no wat to do i just open the
spark plugs and each plug half of it was missing (the part the goes in the engine) :?
did my engine blow if so why
or if it didnt blow wat is wrong with it
im assuming that u got a sudden leak of oil which dropped the oil pressure giving the ecu a signal to cut ignition…did u see the red oil pressure light flas in ure cluster? do u see any damage to the motor from the outside? post up pics and ill try help.
no light flas in cluster no damage to the motor from out side i dont have cam to take pick now
so did the motor blow or wat happen
Are you saying you pulled the spark plug and there were parts of it missing?? On how many plugs?
If infact you have bits of a spark plug missing, I would assume you toasted a piston or valve somehow. My friend ran lean, melted his spark plug and had oil everywhere underneath the hood. He also had a hole in a piston.
Give us some more details, hows the oil look, does the engine turn over, compression test?
thats all i now for now its too cold to work on the car outside

i had same problem…spark plug wires are not missing… look in the valve cover holes… there inside… they jus broke off…lol…

Anyways, try to get some pictures up and some more details…like what did it sound like when it shut off? were you in gear for long? did you notice any screaching or grinding when the motor shut off and you were coasting?
stuff like that.

there could be lots of things wrong with your engine. i couldn’t tell you what it is cause i don’t know. if anything it sounds like you had the boost up too high and did something to the pistons. maybe not. i don’t understand what exactly happened.
yeah man type properly, we speak english here, not half-ass fob english, its cool if you talk like that when u chill, but if you want to explain a problem, put some effort into explaining it clearly and stop wasting our time by giving us bits of unclear incorrect information, how did the spark plugs break in half ? did they snap off and the rest are still in the block or are the tips just burned out ? as others asked, was there noise ? what did you do ? unless you tell us exactly what happened we cannot help you
Dude ease up, english could be his second language for all you know. I agree he needs to do a better job explaining it but not everyone here is an english major.
