Seriously though, even though you joke about it, it’s true.
One persons beliefs are just the opinion of said person about how they perceive the world/universe to work. No matter how similar they are to someone elses beliefs, it’s very difficult to compare a persons beliefs to some standard, and doing so takes the individuality out of said beliefs.
Disclaimer: My posts may be written off as the ramblings of a guy drunk off whiskey. Assuming that’s the case (as it is at the moment).
i am 2.5/3, i see myself as agnostic. i was raised catholic, hard, srs business catholic (my mom is still a die hard catholic) and what i took from it was good. it made me who i am today. i have certain morals and values but i dont go to church at all
the 10 commandments (minus the god and false god, name in vain parts) are somethign every man should live by, and if you dont agree with me… youre not a good person, end of story
at the end of the day-
I am the Lord your God (ok?)
You shall have no other gods before me (i really like myself and my friends and life in general, sorry)
You shall not make for yourself an idol (eh im pretty awesome)
You shall not make wrongful use of the name of your God (ha do it all the time, SRY)
Remember the Sabbath and keep it holy (holy like beer drinking?)
Honor your father and mother (duh i love my parents. if your parents are anything like my parents you would love them too)
You shall not murder (only if it is necessary)
You shall not commit adultery (never, if i want to bang someone else i would break up with her why hurt her feelings)
You shall not steal (never have)
You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor (never have, well, never been put in a position to)
You shall not covet your neighbor’s wife (nope)
You shall not covet anything that belongs to your neighbor (nope)
Agnostic, Monogomous, and am conservative-libertarian in the current climate but I understand that liberalism and even socialism are possible if everything is right. Honestly, given circumstances any form of government can be the right one, even a dictatorship.
so i sent this to the president, VP and a colleague this weekend… all of whom are big christians… like grace before dinner and incorporating jesus and god into speeches in front of 500 important people christians…
I advised them to have a good weekend depsite the bad news that my not beleiving in god suggests that i am smarter than the lot of them
they retorted a couple times this weekend (VP, colleague)
and this morning the three of them sat me down in the presidents office…
they brought the bible out and advised that i read it certain specific passages, there was some quoting going down…
then we debated on our collective existence for a while and we broke for other meetings.
Twas all in good fun though… i’ll be sending them some Steven Hawking talks now.
If Ceiling Cat wuz reel, He iz gud kitteh nd haz teh powerz to pwn evrywun. But if Ceiling Cat wuz gud kitteh, then He wants all teh kittehs to haz cheezburger. Nd if Ceiling Cat has powerz to pwn evrywun, He haz powerz tu gives all teh kittehs cheezburger. But sum kittehs no has cheezburger. So Ceiling Cat iz not reel.
(Sum n00bs say this iz becoz Ceiling Cat gived us Free Will, and teh reel reason some kittehs no has cheezburger is becoz other kittehs yuze Free Willz tu steel cheezburger and eated it–not Ceiling Cat’s fawlt! But this splaination not plausibling: everycat knowz that cheezburger iz better than Free Will. Sum saiz dat Free Will maeks sum kittehs not wantz Ceiling Cat, an dey livz in teh toylut bowl cuz dey refwse beelevin in Ceiling Cat. Not Ceiling Cat’s fawlt! kthxbye)
steven hawkings uses imaginary numbers to try to prove the multiverse theory. it takes a lot more faith to believe him than the fundamentals of christianity.
