Subaru tuning issues.

find me a white w/ red interior… that you think is in good mechanical condition, for around 14k. and you got yourself a deal.

find me a functional front o2 sensor for my subaru and we can go do 6k launches… hows about that?.. FUCK FAULTY PARTS!

6k launches on a slipping clutch? how the hell does it do that?! :mwahaha

i assume since hes gettin a new one he wants to blow the one up thats on there now :lol can an emo kid get a few redline launches seeing how youve got a new one lined up?

Thats a hard to find car, and an expensive o2 sensor. :sad

ask jays05’… seemed to do that for him on the ext a lil bit ago when we were out datalogging… btw… car is NOT happy right now… pulling 4-5* of timing at 5800-6k falling on its face…losing TONS of power there… fuck my life… :headbang

he doesn’t want broken axles and to hurt the motor :nono

hey he allready said he was gonna do 6krpm launches, i just want to get in on the fun :lol

i found one in delaware… this sounds crazy, but what are the chances on July 23rd you’d take a train to Delaware with me and look at it? i’ll give ya $ for the day and pay for you’re ticket. i want to get it, and its a good price… i just want to make sure it’s mechanically fine. Actually if you’d PM me you’re phone number, or e-mail i have some questions i’d like to ask you.

bought a brand new o2 sensor from capitalland 2 days ago… plugged it in… throwing a code now that says no circuit activity… like the o2 isnt even there… before it was just heater circuit failure… so new code … i hate bad parts… especially ones that cost 185$
:angry2 :headbang

so return it and get a new one… :confused

they dont have any more in stock… that was last one… im calling them tomorrow to see if they got any more in yet.

Thanks for that Paul. Sorry for my sig yesterday I was being immature. Sometimes it is hard to keep a clear head on this issue. If everyone working at Synapse were assholes this would be much easier for me but that is not the case.

On the crank polishing thing well I was told it was micro polished in fact I never even knew what that was until Morgan said it. If you search my post history on nasioc/iwsti ever since the motor was built I’ve been telling people that the crank was polished and it was running on the loose end of factory bearing tolerances.

I don’t think Ron @ RAW performance has anything to gain by lying about problems he found in the parts I sent him. He never even knew that the engine had low oil pressure (I was feeling bad about not telling him and was worried the new engine would do the same, till he told me what he found). All he knew was that the engine had blown a HG and snapped a cam before that.

Now on the head gasket issue. Well there were prior clues unfortunately. I had to add coolant to the upper resevoir tank shortly after I received the car and I was smelling coolant after shutdown. I remember telling you that when I was at the shop. On my famous youtube video where the HG blew, you can see the temp gauge making 30 degree temp swings prior to the final pull (its in the logs too, 190==>160 in under 5 seconds, 60 seconds before it let go). My thought was that it started leaking slowly from day one after that head went on, it ate some coolant, and the problem snowballed. Obviously the coolant system was not leaking since it bowed out the radiator core.

And Paul in your defense you were probably the only one at the shop who didn’t blame the tune.

Jay, while your signature may have been immature, it did give me a chuckle.

Yeah i pulled off a nice 5500-6k launch in Travis’ STI last night. Which is a surprise since I hadn’t launched an STI in 8 months and have only driven a stick once in the last 8 months. It is possible to catch a good launch in that car although the clutch is sloppy. There is still some friction material left on the clutch disc - you can smell it! :lol

I think the o2 sensor is fine and there’s a wiring problem.

update… IT WAS THE o2 SENSOR!!! fred @ capitaland subaru warrantied the o2 sensor i got there tuesday for a new one… came home and put it in… did a hard ecu reset and no more CEL. pulls TONS harder than it did last night jay. sooooo happy right now. :banana

I don’t understand how it can pull SOOO much harder on a clutch has been foked for over 3 months

clutch only slips under heavy load in 5/6th gear or on a high rpm launch… 2/3/4th are fine…

Sounds like you are just overpowering it which is weird given your traps. Not trying to be mean there just honest.

car is pulling buttloads of timing up top… 5500-6300 specifically… 4-5* in some cases… and as im sure u know a degree of timing can be 8 to upwards of 15hp per degree… well… it WAS pulling timing last night… put new oxygen sensor in today… fuckin thing felt like i added 5psi to it… pulls like mad now.
