subframe installation

i searched around on son and didnt come up with much

i have a 91 with hicas and removed the hicas lines etc and i want to take out the subframe and replace it with my 89’s subframe, i dont want to have that damn hicas i dont trust it

here are my questions

i read that the bolts are welded in that hold the subframe to the car, is this true? if so how can i take them out?

what do i do about my brake lines?

is there a write up about this or anything at all?

currently there is no drive shaft and no gas tank in either car so installation and taking them out should be relatively easy…any tips would help my greatly i want to be as prepared as i can going into this its gonna be alot more work, lol it seams harder then the fricken engine swap i did

thanks

the bolts are part of the car… but they aren’t really bolts haha, all u have to do is undo the nuts on the bottom, and prolly give it a whack, and the sub frame drops off, installations is reverse, you will have to disconnect alll the brake lines but no biggie

heatw is rigth, undo nuts, lower it with a jack, put new one on, bolt it back up, dont forget to undo brake lines

woah it’s that easy? time to sand-blast mines.

thanks guys for some quick responses…where do i undo the brake lines? is there a seperate one before the subframe?

yeah you’ll be able to see where they need to be disconnected from under the car… i think you can just undo the flex liens from the hard lines and be able to drop it but i don’t recall for sure… you will probobly have to undo the ebrake cables form the carliper and move those out 0f the wayas well

they are not even attached to the brake lines. there are some metal tabs that you bend. its that simple just take a look!
