Hey, someone told me if I turn my subs upsidedown in the box, so the magnets are up, it will pound harder… anyone heard of this before? It looks retarded but if it helps I’m going to try it.
:gotme:if you want it to pound harder buy something better:)
but i think they have to be special sub’s…to do what you want
You do not need special drivers to invert them.
There may be a very minimal gain in output from inverting them - due to the slight increase in box volume.
I very seriously doubt that there will be an audible difference. Depending on the drivers - You’re talking about a difference of 0.05 - 0.15 cu. ft. If You are working with a very small sealed enclosure then the overall Q will change, but nothing drastic.
Oh, and usually there are lot’s of things You can do to make them ‘pound harder’ without buying something better.
Thanks for the info, any other tips to make them pound harder?
give em viagra.
Well depending on your specs you can build a bigger box to reach a deeper tone
Cool, thanks for the tips.
yea, switching the box might help a lot…subs just don’t sound right flipped around
Right now it’s 2 10" Punch subs in separate Fosgate boxes, used to be in a hatchback so they fit well, they’re small. Would putting both in one box help quite a bit?
Put both subs in the same box and if you have room get a bigger box. If you have the manuals RF has suggested box sizes for their subs. if you don’t lemme know i’m sure i have one from my old 10’s laying around somewhere.
you’ll be safe with .75 cu ft for each subwoofer…that’s what is suggested for most 10" subs…getting a ported box would make it significantly louder too, but a little less (not noticeably) accurate
yup… vented / ported boxes usually sound louder…
If you want them to hit harder, feed them more power
Silencer, Silencer, Silencer, and on top of that, more Silencer. A smaller box will make them hit tighter while a larger box will make them hit a lower frequency.
