New shocks. Preferably stiffer or at least adjustable for track use. Maybe stiffer springs too.

That’s a pretty general statement considering you weren’t in the car and haven’t looked it over…
That’s what it sounds like, wheels bouncing. I included springs in the post later after you read it.

I was super impressed watching you out on the track sunday. Your car scoots, I was going to try and catch you when you where back in the pits but it seemed I kept missing you then next think you where gone… I defiantly would love to jump in with you next time your out…
Could be a bad bushing somewhere, a punched strut top, a bad bearing, a loose wheel, poorly setup tire pressures, etc, etc. I wouldnt be so quick to generalize with “OH GO BUY SHIT”
The black one was Sam (EvoMR) no idea who the grey one was.
He’s asking on the forums, any replies he gets are only suggestions. Obviously only someone actually looking at the car can say its –> this.

I had a blast and will be coming to more events in the future. I had a lot of fun driving, meeting new people. I am a newbie to the forum, but certainly not to the scene. My only comments center around the flagging and thus safety. This above all else is the most important aspect of the day. We are all there to have fun. But it will be no fun if safety is compromised. I personally think a single flagger isn’t enough. I heard its been attempted in the past to have more, with less then great results. I don’t know what the answer is, but maybe have dedicated flaggers that work specific groups. Even a flagger on the opposite end would have been a tremendous help. It seemed as though flagging was being handled by who ever was closest at the time. I personally would volunteer to work opposite whatever group I am in. I am sure there are a few others that would as well. Its not an easy job, certainly when novices aren’t following there directions, but it is an important one, and one that should probably be investigated and approached with a bit more seriousness.
Either way, thank you all for a wonderful time, hope to see you all again soon.
Glad to hear I helped. Also good to hear you fucked up your font tires, welcome to the world of GTIs.
All,
I had a problem in the grand curve. My car hopped while turning under power. The jolt was bad enough that the shock went into the drive train and engine revs went down.
Any ideas as to what needs repair?
Any pics or video of my car in a corner so I can see what the suspension was doing?[/quote]
Let me know if you’re going to any of the other track days. I’d love to get more pointers. Can’t wait to make some upgrades happen and see how I can improve!
Thanks Guys,
I have adjustable dampeners, set them to fill stiff and it did not help the problem. If it was not for the engine revs changing it was almost like I had a bad alignment and toe was way off. For a wile I thought it was the tires rubbing, but it only happened when accelerating and turning, not while breaking or no power turns.
Car drives fine unless I am relay pushing it. I was thinking it was a strut to, but they seem OK. Can’t find anything loose but the car does seem to have a little more roll than it used too. Whatever it is it is affecting the entire drive chain, and makes the car hard to handle. I pushed to the inside when it happened and cost me speed from taking a bad line and the engine slowing down, frustrating :banghead:
Do you think it might be that the vibrations are causing ghost knock and timing retard?
“Ghost knock” Hu, did not think of that… no, I think it is some kind of drive line shock. I am starting to think I am loosing my left CV joint. That would be a part under more stress while accelerating and turning.
did anyone get pics of the army green s13 that was up there?
I had a few but they where no good, Im sure Micah or paulo does though
If we are looking for things to do on the track to compare car speeds and driver skill, we could maybe do a Touge battle like in Japan which requires no passing,
This is really what we were trying to do out there anyways, to keep up and put pressure on the person in front, or lose the people behind us
I’d be up for that if I trusted my brakes which I don’t.

I would be up for making it more competitive. Wasn’t Dunnville supposed to get a timing system? If not there are IR systems that can be rented that work with multiple cars. I would be up for a 5 lap average FTW. I am not big on single fastest lap that is not like a race you need to be consistent and be able to string good laps together to win a race. In go karting I rarely ever have the fastest lap, but I often win the race because I have more consistent times even with traffic.
Any one for karting tonight in Buf? I have not been there yet.
you need to either make the track smoother or make your car less FWD. but beyond that I would need to ride along… I’m more interested in the exact line you took and how you positioned the momentum of the car. When going clockwise I short shift right as I enter the curve grande to 4th and I’m just getting past the bumpy part as the turbo fully spools… there’s no point in putting more power down if you can’t stick it to the road.
if anyone has any suggestions for cost effective multi-car timing systems i am all ears.
Josh and i looked seriously at buying one but the investment was too much.
if we can get one for less than $4k that will effectively handle 10 cars i would seriously look at it… but you can expect to be charged a bit more to get on the track…lol
