summit batttery box

wtf, they give me instructions on mounting the BOX but not the battery, i can’t for th elife of me figure out how the battery tie downs (the jhooks) work they dont’ go through the box anywhere but the mount holes are shown outside the box on the template (obviously) did they forget to give me directions or something?

maybe you have to drill your own :dunno:

thats why they are on the template :dunno:

the one i got has a strap to hold the battery

no the lid of the box doesn’ tfit…i called summit tech they said oyu have to notch the box/lid that’s bs

is it the $30 battery relocation Kit?? if so. use the cables, and buy the sealed moroso box.

post a pic of it

i bought that junk summit kit, nothing but nightmares, not to mention it isnt sealed so it prob wont pass tech.
so i ordered the moroso one

i see…damnit

It’s easy… Drill the holes where the template tells you, put the straight part of the j bolt in the holl, then put the J so that it hooks into the box to hold it still… I have the box too, just got finished installing it… I think itll work well since I got it for $23

see I told you guys and I;m not even looking at it :booty:

you’re still missing my point, i have no problems drilling holes it’s the TOP of it that doesn’t work

Like someone said above, the top is held down by the black strap that goes over the box… The J hooks hold the box from sliding around with the battery in it… use the j hooks to hook onto the outside of the box, where it flares out a little… Thats it.

they your battery is broke :kekegay:

i dunno what box you got but mine only “flares” out on one side for the battery cable

its junk!!!

buy the blue moroso one.

i had the exact one. you basically have to notch the damn thing to get it to work

Does anyone know the general legal requirements for battery relocation? does it need to be a sealed box, I know it needs to be secured without bungie straps. Does it need to be away from certain things? (exhaust?) Are certain locations off limits? I wanted to move mine to the rear but not sure if I want to put it in the very back or in front of the axle somewhere.

sealed box w/ vent tube and cutoff switch if mounted in the rear although u have a truck so you will not need a sealed box i believe since its not in the compartment of your vechicle but still need the cut off switch

Kurts isnt sealed, so like i said, he needs the moroso one

cut off switch? can someone elaborate on that?

the moroso one is sealed as well as most alum ones and ithink they all come w/ the tube the moroso one is the only plastic nhra aproved box ! if its not sealed its suposidely not legal ! but we all know it depends on the tech guy…

cut off switch is for the battery incase of a accident/wreck someone can shut your car off from the back of the vechicle for you ! heres a pic
