SummitRacing.com

UPDATE: March 12
Temporarily re-opened, read post on page 3 for details and some new deals. Only open until Tuesday evening.

Time for an ACTUAL group buy

Not a business transaction, no profiting, etc. Don’t get to see many of these around here except from Theo (I’m sure others do it too).

Trying to break the buy-in for SummitRacing.com so we can all get wicked prices… Only catch at this point is I can’t find out the actual tier1 wholesale pricing until after the order is placed…

So we’re guessing realistically it will be at least 20% but no promises.

So, to be safe I’m going to ask that if anyone is interested in this to assume a 15% discount.

Also, please keep in mind all of the prices on the site are in USD.

Shipping will be free on any small items like tools, etc. Shipping on 99% on the site is free however my transportation costs will be higher on the larger items – I’ll be transporting this all back here from Ohio in 2-3 vehicles.

I will be handling getting an extreme discount at the border and the total amount will be divided up amoungst everyone based on the amount that you spend so that it’s fair for everyone.

Order
Add your name to the on-going list. Keep the list tidy or I’ll simply remove your part of the list.

Payment Methods

  • Cash (USD or Canadian(USD+20% Exchange))
  • EMT (Canadian (USD+20% Exchange))
  • PayPal (Canadian (USD+20% Exchange) + 3% to cover fees)
  • NO Checks or Money Orders

Timeline to get in on this is 1 week which will be the evening of Sunday March 5th

Other - read this!
Just a note… Summit carries tens of thousands of products… a lot of the Summit Racing branded stuff is crazy cheap (mastercraft pricing or cheaper) and is pretty good quality. For examples see my personal list of items listed below - just search the part # on their site.

This will only go through is we can reach around $3500 of parts… I’m running this in a few places and I’ve got just under $2000 covered already so add to the list - this is a perfect time to start building up your tools collection. Check out things like tap sets, torque wrenches, piston ring grinders… etc!

If you want multiple of something, put a seperate line item for each, (like I did below)

Minimum purchase amount is $150 (using the retail prices on the website). Team up with a friend if you have to.

Post the RETAIL PRICE from summit’s site as your price. These will not be the actual price paid, your cost will be discounted the 15%+ discussed above.

John, just a note (I will be perusing the list tomorrow).

I tried to get VHT stuff shipped here form my american supplier and they wouldn’t send it because of CSA standards registration BS.

I know it IS sold here but I couldn’t get it shipped here.

Just a heads up so you don’t get a potential surprise at the border.

Theo

Hmm Crazy… it’s just a piece of plastic!

Thanks for the tip though I’ll try to disguise that as best I can ;]

Can you get this for me
VHT-SP999 / VHT Nite Shades Coating / $12.95

Sorry dood, just posted another rule in there which is:
“Minimum purchase amount is $150 (using the retail prices on the website)”

Heh, sorry man, I am sure they will send you that. I didn’t read the entire thing, just the VHT. I think it is just the chemicals (paint, coatings etc) that they won’t send.

may i ask why? regardless, ur amount from everyone in the GB will be alot more than 150…

if possible, id like:
SUM-3619 / Summit Fender Covers / 8.95 x 2
and two strut tower bars as well. but it still doesnt equal 150

Why?

Well, I did a group buy once where people could buy small items and I ended up having 60 people getting things, some of which only cost $20. The time it takes to price stuff out, deal with the group buy itself, set up the dealer account, transfer money to the US, take ~100 phone calls, pay for the cellphone minutes, pay for the gas involved in the drive, deal with the border on the way to the US, drive ~650klm for 7 hours to get to my Ohio location, make sure everything is there when the shipment arrives, sort it all out by person (easy when its 5-10 people, difficult when its 50+ people), drive another 7 hours home while dealing with the border once again but this time spending 1-3 hours there because of all of the mechandise, getting home, meeting with 50+ people… mostly seperately since people don’t like to cooperate.

So, go figure all of that and now consider the fact that I’m not asking for a single penny of profit to cover hours and hours of my time and $300+ in expenses for gas, etc.

But, thanks for asking because I guess that did need some clarification!

Also, if you’re going to add to the list please do it like I outlined above.

If you’re getting the fender covers and strut tower bars, you must be close to $150 – like I mentioned in my first post try to find a buddy to team up with and breaking $150 will be cake!

How do you work out things that require truck shipping? I need a new tool box, and all of them are listed as truck frieght.

Thanks for clarifying… the money isnt an issue. its that ihave too many tools and dont see many things id like to grab from there…

Ill continue looking tommorow, see if i can add more stuff up 8)

As far as non-profit. if this GB requires you to go to the US and spend all that time and money, you should get something outta it dude.

either mark up the shit, or hoepfully some of these ruddies can appreciate what your doing and donate a couple bucks…

take care

Brandon: Anytime. Like I mentioned - I am just breaking the initial buy-in for Summit, that is where I benefit. That means from this group buy and forward I will be able to order anything from Summit at wholesale even if its only $100 worth of stuff.

Axlerod: Since this stuff will be coming back in 2-3 s13’s the big stuff isn’t going to work out unfortunately, sorry!

the only reason vht wont come across is the lack of french labels…

well at least thats why i cant get it at my shop

GT

Really… thats kinda whack.

It says on part specific page on a few of their aresol can items that it contain hazardous materials and may not be legal in some states or something along those lines… but I guess because of the lack of french labels they can’t be sold to the public here. I can see logic behind both reasons I guess heh… Hopefully I don’t run in to any issues at the border.

For you big HP SR guys – this is by far the best price on the web…

Tack on John’s discount and this is a smocking deal. If I hadn’t already ordered these I would get them here.

I know, I saw that too!

I have a feeling people here are to lazy to look through the ~150 240sx specific parts Summit carries along with the thousands of tools and other useful items so I’m going to post a few things worth checking out… prices can’t be beaten anywhere:

*All prices are based on estimated 15% - 30% discount and estimated 2-4% border fees and are therefor estimated total GB costs. These totals will not be known until we place the final order.
